Developer supply container and developer supplying system

There are provided a developer accommodating portion for accommodating the developer, a discharge portion formed with a discharge opening for discharging the developer accommodated in the developer accommodating portion, and an engaging portion. The engaging portionis engaged with an engaged portionwith a mounting operation of a developer supply containerto displace a developer receiving portionin an upward direction U so that the receiving opening communicates with the discharge opening. The engaging portionhas a holding portionwhich is provided rotatably about a rotation shaftand is provided with holding portionto be engaged with the engaged portionto hold the engaged portion. With the mounting operation, the engaging portionrotates about the rotation shaftso that the engaged portionheld by the holding portionmoves upward U.

An image forming apparatus including a rotatable developer container, a receiving device which receives the container and is inserted in a direction along a rotational axis of the container and which receives the developer discharged from the container when the container is in a first position, and a regulating member provided on the container. The regulating member prevents, during transportation of the image forming apparatus, the container from moving to the first position from a second position which is upstream of the first position with respect to an inserting direction of the container and in which the developer is not discharged from the container.

An image forming apparatus includes a developing device configured to develop an electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member, a rotatable developer accommodating container dismountably mounted in the image forming apparatus and configured to accommodate a developer, and a mounting portion including a receiving portion for receiving the developer discharged from the container and configured to mount the container. A cover is configured to open and close the mounting portion, and a rotation detecting portion is configured to detect rotation of the container mounted at the mounting portion. In addition, a display portion displays information, and a controller controls the display portion so that information on the rotation of the container is displayed at the display portion in a case that when the cover is open, with the rotation detecting portion detecting a predetermined amount of the rotation of the container.

An image bearing member unit includes an image bearing member for bearing a toner image; a bearing portion which rotatably supports the image bearing member and is coaxial with a rotational axis of the image bearing member and which includes an arcuate portion for forming a circumferential part of a circle large larger than the image bearing member; a holding portion, capable of permitting insertion of the bearing portion in a rotational axis direction of the image bearing member, for holding the bearing portion, and a passing portion, provided in the holding portion, for permitting passage of the arcuate portion therethrough in the rotational axis direction. The passing portion is provided so that a phase of the arcuate portion when the bearing portion is mounted at a normal position and a phase of the passing portion are different from each other.

An image forming unit mountable to an image forming apparatus includes a main assembly including an image bearing drum and insertable into the apparatus; a cover portion engaging with the main assembly of the unit to cover the drum; an inserting portion provided on the cover portion for insertion into the apparatus; a movable locking portion for locking the cover portion with the apparatus; and a moving mechanism for moving the locking portion to a locking position after the cover portion is mounted to the apparatus, and the main assembly of the unit is inserted into the apparatus by a predetermined amount from an insertion starting position, and for moving the locking portion from the locking position an unlocking position before completion of mounting of the main assembly of the unit to the apparatus.

Image forming unit

A frame of an image forming apparatus includes a bottom plate provided at a bottom of the frame, a plurality of recessed portions each provided on the bottom plate so as to extend toward an inside of the bottom plate, the recessed portions crossing each other, and a reinforcing member fastened to the bottom plate so as to cover at least a portion where the recessed portions cross each other, an area of the reinforcing member being smaller than an area of the bottom plate.

A photosensitive member unit for an image forming apparatus includes a rotatable photosensitive drum; a charging roller including an elastic layer; a first spring urging the roller toward the drum; a drive receiving portion provided on the drum; a rotatable spacer including a contact portion contacted to the drive receiving portion and capable of receiving the driving force through the drive receiving portion, the spacer being rotatable between a spacing position for maintaining a spaced state in which the contact portion contacts the drive receiving portion to space the roller from the drum, and a contact position in which the spaced state between the drum and the roller is disestablished, and the spacer being movable toward the drum; a supporting member urging the spacer in a state that spacer is in the spacing position; and a second spring urging the supporting member toward a rotation axis of the spacer.
