A power storage device includes: a modular structure including at least one power storage module, the power storage module having an electrode stacked body and a sealing member, the electrode stacked body having bipolar electrodes, and the sealing member sealing a side surface of the electrode stacked body; a pair of restraint members disposed at both ends of the modular structure in the first direction to apply a restraint load to the modular structure; and a first intermediate member interposed between the restraint member and the modular structure to transmit the restraint load from the restraint member to the modular structure, wherein the first intermediate member includes a first package that is deformable according to the restraint load and a fluid that is enclosed in the first package.

Electrical storage device

The electric storage device includes an electrode assembly having a positive electrode and a negative electrode, a case for housing the electrode assembly, a pressure relief valve, and positive and negative electrode conductive members that are electrically connected to the respective corresponding electrodes. The case has a wall in which the pressure relief valve is disposed. At least one of the positive and negative electrode conductive members includes an interposing portion located between the inner surface of the wall and an end face of the electrode assembly facing the inner surface, and a shielding portion located closer to the end face of the electrode assembly than the interposing portion. The shielding portion covers the pressure release valve from a side of the wall where the electrode assembly is located.

Electric storage device

A nickel-hydrogen battery includes a plurality of electrodes each including a current collector made of a metal, and disposed in a manner stacked in a first direction; a separator disposed between adjacent electrodes of the plurality of electrodes; a plurality of resin members disposed on peripheral portions of the plurality of electrodes to ensure a clearance between the adjacent electrodes; and a surface treatment layer covering one surface of the current collector at least in the peripheral portion of the plurality of electrode. The surface treatment layer includes a plurality of protrusions from the one surface. Widest parts of the protrusions are located above base ends thereof, and parts of the resin members are interposed between adjacent protrusions, across a range from tip ends to the base ends thereof.

Power storage device

A power storage device includes an electrode assembly, a case, first and second electrode terminals, and a current interrupting mechanism. The current interrupting mechanism interrupts a current through an electrical current-carrying path when the internal pressure of the case reaches a preset pressure. The current interrupting mechanism includes a mechanism insulating portion, which insulates the first electrode terminal including the current interrupting mechanism from an end face of the electrode assembly, and a terminal insulating portion, which insulates the second electrode terminal from the end face of the electrode assembly. The projecting dimension from a wall portion to the mechanism insulating portion including the first electrode terminal is equal to the projecting dimension from the wall portion to the terminal insulating portion including the second electrode terminal.

Provided is a battery module, which includes an array for battery cells, an elastic body disposed with respect to the array, a restraining member that restrains the array via the elastic body in an arranging direction of the battery cells, a plurality of harnesses that extend in the arranging direction and have connecting terminals of tips thereof connected to electrode terminals of the predetermined battery cells, and a binding member that binds the plurality of harnesses into a harness bundle. A binding position of the harnesses which is caused by the binding member is located at a side opposite to the elastic body relative to a connecting position between the electrode terminal and the connecting terminal, and the harness that branches off from the binding member has a flexure between the binding position and the connecting position.

Battery module

A bus bar assembly structure includes an electrode terminal and a plate-shaped bus bar that is assembled to the electrode terminal. The bus bar has a burr along an edge of one of openings of an insertion hole. A threaded portion of a nut has a tapered portion at an edge of one of openings of the threaded portion, and a largest diameter of the tapered portion is greater than a bore diameter of the insertion hole. A flat portion of the bus bar is held between a bolt and a nut while the burr is located within a space created by the tapered portion.

Bus bar assembly structure and battery module

An electricity storage device includes an electrode assembly and a load applying mechanism. The load applying mechanism applies, to the electrode assembly, a load in a direction in which the positive electrode and the negative electrode are stacked in the electrode assembly. The negative electrode includes a metal foil and an active material layer that covers at least part of the metal foil and contains a carbon-based material as an active material. The density of the carbon-based material in the active material layer is 1.2 g/cmor higher. The degree of orientation that is defined as a ratio (I(100)/I(002)) of an X-ray diffraction intensity I(100) of a (100) plane to a diffraction intensity I(002) of a (002) plane in the active material layer is lower than or equal to 0.3. The load applied by the load applying mechanism is greater than or equal to 0.22 MPa.

A current interruption device includes: a deforming plate configured to deform when the internal pressure of the casing rises above the predetermined level; a conducting plate which configures the current path; and a contact plate. The conducting plate includes a first contact portion configured to contact the contact plate. The contact plate includes a second contact portion configured to contact the first contact portion. The deforming plate includes a pressure receiving portion configured to receive the internal pressure of the casing and a contacting portion configured to contact the first contact portion. The second contact portion is configured to be separated from the conducting plate by deformation causing the contacting portion to move toward the contact plate. The deforming plate is insulated from the conducting plate and the contact plate. The conducting plate is disposed to be interleaved between the deforming plate and the contact plate.

Current interruption device and electric storage device using same

A current interruption device includes a deforming plate, a contact plate and a conducting plate which configure a current path. The deforming plate includes one surface on an opposite side from the contact plate facing a first space, a pressure of which is retained to a same pressure as the internal pressure of the casing and the other surface opposed to the contact plate facing a second space, a pressure of which is retained to a same pressure as an external pressure of the casing. When the internal pressure rises above the predetermined level, the second contact portion is separated from the conducting plate by deformation of the deforming plate toward the contacting plate.

Current interruption device and electricity storage device using the current interruption device

An electricity storage device includes an electrode assembly, a case, a safety valve, and a cover member. The case accommodates the electrode assembly. The safety valve is arranged in the case and opens to discharge gas out of the case when an inner pressure of the case exceeds a release pressure. The cover member is arranged in the case opposing the safety valve and includes a flow passage for the gas.

Electricity storage device
