A heterocyclic compound represented by the formula (I) ##STR1## wherein X and Y, which may be same or different, represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a nitro group or a cyano group, the formula --Z.sup.1 --Z.sup.2 --Z.sup.3 -- is a group represented by --CF.sub.2 --CF.sub.2 --O--, --CF.sub.2 --O--CF.sub.2 -- or --O--CF.sub.2 --O-- and R is represented by the formula: ##STR2## and an insecticidal and acaricidal agent comprising same as an active ingredient.

Disclosed are triazole derivatives represented by the following formula, insecticides and acaricides containing the triazole derivatives as active ingredients, and a method of controlling insect pests and mites. ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a halogen atom, 1-pyrrolyl group, a group represented by the formula NR.sup.2 R.sup.3 ; R.sup.5 represents a methyl or ethyl group substituted with at least one halogen atom; n represents 0, 1 or 2; Y represents a nitrogen atom or a group represented by the formula CX.sup.2 ; and X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 are the same or different and each represent a halogen atom, a nitro group or a cyano group.

Triazole derivatives and uses thereof

A hydrazone compound of the general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein X is halogen; R.sup.1 is hydrogen, optionally substituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or optionally substituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy; R.sup.2 's are independently hydrogen or fluorine; R.sup.3 is a group of the general formula: CH.sub.2 R.sup.4 wherein R.sup.4 is cyano or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy; or R.sup.3 is a group of the general formula: SR.sup.5 wherein R.sup.5 is optionally substituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.16 alkyl; optionally substituted phenyl, or the like, has excellent insecticidal activity and rather low toxicity to mammals. The hydrazone compound is useful as an active ingredient of insecticides for controlling harmful insects.

The present invention provides a hydrazone compound of the formula I: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different and are independently hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkoxy, methoxymethyl or cyanomethyl, with the proviso that the R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are not simultaneously hydrogen; R.sup.3 is trifluoromethyl or methyl; and X is halogen, and an insecticide containing the hydrazone compound as an active ingredient. The hydrazone compound has good insecticidal activity and lower acute toxicity to mammals.

A novel 1-phenylimidazole derivative having the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; X is a fluorine atom, a chlorine atom or a nitro group; Y is a fluorine atom or a chlorine atom; Z is a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom, a chlorine atom or a bromine atom, a process for producing the same and insecticides containing the same as an active ingredient, are disclosed.

The present invention relates to an oxadiazolinone derivative represented by the following general formula, a process for producing the same and insecticides containing the same as an active ingredient: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a haloalkyl group or a haloalkoxy group; R.sup.2 is a halogen atom, nitro group, trifluoromethyl group of 1-pyrrolyl group; R.sup.3 is a bicycloalkyl group, a methyl- or choro-substituted cycloalkyl group, an alkenyl group, a methyl-substituted cycloalkenyl group, 2-methyl-1,3-dithioran-2-yl group or an alkyl group, wherein the alkyl group may be substituted with a halogen atom, an alkoxy group, an alkylthio group, an alkylsulfinyl group, an alkylsulfonyl group or an alkoxycarbonyl group; R.sup.4 is hydrogen atom or fluorine atom; and X is CR.sup.2 or N. The oxidiazolinone derivative can be used as an insecticide by formulating it into emulsifiable concentrates, wettable powders, dusts, granules, flowable concentrates and poison baits, etc..
