A liquid discharge head includes a discharge port array having a plurality of discharge ports and a supply port array having a plurality of supply ports. The discharge port array and the supply port array extend from a first to a second end of the liquid discharge head. The plurality of discharge ports includes a first-end discharge port closest to the first end and a second-end discharge port closest to the second end. The plurality of supply ports includes a first-end supply port closest to the first end and a second-end supply port closest to the second end. Seen from a position facing openings of the plurality of discharge ports, an end of an opening of the first-end supply port adjacent to the first end is at a position nearer to the first end than an end of an opening of the first-end discharge port adjacent to the first end.

A liquid ejection head includes: a casing, which is hollow, and has an opening at one end; a lid member, which is fixed to an end portion of the opening of the casing; and a member arranged inside the casing. The lid member has a liquid supply port. The member has a first liquid guide groove, and the casing has a second liquid guide groove. A liquid ejection apparatus includes: a recording head that ejects liquid; a sub-tank that is connected to the recording head and temporarily stores the liquid to be supplied to the recording head; a liquid tank that communicates with the sub-tank and is able to be filled with the liquid; a first atmosphere opening unit that is provided in the liquid tank; and a second atmosphere opening unit that is provided in the sub-tank. The second atmosphere opening unit is closable when the liquid tank is filled with the liquid, and the first atmosphere opening unit and the second atmosphere opening unit are able to open the liquid tank and the sub-tank to the atmosphere, respectively, when the sub-tank is filled with the liquid filled in the liquid tank by a hydraulic head pressure.

There is provided a method for manufacturing a liquid ejection head comprising a base plate that is provided with supply slits, and an element substrate that is jointed to the base plate and is provided with supply openings. In a case where a shift amount between a position of the supply opening and a position of the supply slit is a predetermined value or more, the element substrate is corrected in position such that the shift amount is less than the predetermined value, and a position of the element substrate is corrected by an integral multiple of an image formation minimum pixel pitch in a sheet conveying direction, of an image formed on a sheet, as a unit of a travel distance at the correcting of the element substrate.

A method for manufacturing a flow passage assembly includes forming a first flow passage in a first joint interface formed by welding a first surface of a first flow passage forming member to a first surface of a second flow passage forming member using an ultrasonic welding process, and forming, after the first flow passage is formed, a second flow passage in a second joint interface formed by welding a first surface of a third flow passage forming member to one of a second surface of the first flow passage forming member and a second surface of the second flow passage forming member using an ultrasonic welding process. A total area of weld portions used when the first flow passage is formed is greater than a total area of weld portions used when the second flow passage is formed.

Liquid discharge head and electric wiring substrate

A recording apparatus which can prevent a drop of a recording head upon attachment of the recording head to a carriage is provided. When a head cartridge is attached/removed to/from a carriage, the carriage is moved to an overlapping position with a head supporting base and stopped there. An opening is provided in a supporting member which supports the electric wiring member, the opening extending in a direction traversing an area where the electric wiring member is supported. Thereby, movement of liquid, such as water and ink, to the end section is blocked, the liquid moving through a gap between a back surface of the electric wiring member and a surface of the supporting member.
