A control apparatus for a hybrid electric vehicle including an engine, a starter and an electric motor that is connected to an electric storage device through a relay. The control apparatus executes an engine start control to crank and start the engine by using a selected one of the starter and the electric motor. The control apparatus detects presence or absence of failure of the electric motor, when executing the engine start control by using the electric motor with the relay being closed. When detecting the failure of the electric motor, the control apparatus causes the relay to be opened, and to suspend execution of the engine start control by using the electric motor, and is configured, when start of the engine is requested next, to execute the engine start control by using the starter while keeping the relay to be opened.

Control apparatus for hybrid electric vehicle

A hybrid vehicle is provided. The hybrid vehicle includes an acceleration pedal, an engine configured to generate an engine torque based on a position of the acceleration pedal, an electronic control unit communicatively coupled to the engine and configured to calculate a target torque based on the position of the acceleration pedal, and estimate a motor-generated (MG)-assist torque based on difference between the target torque and the engine torque, a motor generator communicatively coupled to the electronic control unit and configured to generate the estimated MG-assist torque, and a power distribution unit configured to deliver the generated MG-assist torque combined with the engine torque to one or more wheels.

A thermoplastic resin composition comprising (A) a propylene/ethylene block copolymer, (B) a combination of a low-crystalline ethylene/butene random copolymer resin and an amorphous ethylene/butene random copolymer rubber, or a combination of an ethylene/octene copolymer rubber and an ethylene/propylene copolymer rubber, (C) a specific block elastomer, and (D) talc. This composition has good injection molding properties, can reveal excellent flexural modulus, heat resistance and surface hardness, and is suitable for producing such injection-molded products as interior automotive trims.

A thermoplastic polymer composition comprising: (i) 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic polymer component which comprises an ethylene-propylene rubber, an ethylene copolymer and a propylene polymer (including an ethylene-propylene block copolymer), and (ii) 0 to 7 parts by weight of talc, the thermoplastic polymer component being composed of, according to fractionation using o-dichlorobenzene as a solvent, component (A) which is a component soluble in the solvent at 40.degree. A thermoplastic polymer composition comprising: (i) 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic polymer component which comprises an ethylene-propylene rubber, an ethylene copolymer and a propylene polymer (including an ethylene-propylene block copolymer), and (ii) 7 to 25 parts by weight of talc, the thermoplastic polymer component being composed of, according to fractionation using o-dichlorobenzene as a solvent, component (A) which is a component soluble in the solvent at 40.degree. An electromagnetic directional control valve for changing over flow paths of fluid comprises a plunger disposed in a case and being capable of moving from a neutral position in one axial direction by a first solenoid and in the other axial direction by a second solenoid to participate in the changeover of the flow paths. First and second stoppers bearing against the plunger are moved together with the plunger respectively in one axial direction and the other axial direction. First and second springs bias the first and second stopper respectively in the direction of abutting against the plunger. The plunger is stopped at the first neutral position held by the first and second springs, at a second position to which the plunger is moved in one axial direction by the first solenoid against the first spring and a third position to which the plunger is moved in the other axial direction by the second solenoid against the second spring.

The shaft and bush device includes a shaft, a bush having a slit in its axial direction and a pressing member which forces the bush inwardly to contact with the shaft so that the bush and shaft are pressed to each other without any clearance. The shaft and the bush may be a screw shaft and a nut engaging the screw shaft or a pin and a nut engaging the pin. A tilting steering apparatus has this shaft and bush device. Namely the device is used as a pivot pin connecting an upper bracket rotatably holding an upper steering shaft and main bracket fixed to a body of an automobile. The device is also used for an expansion-shrinking device which swings the upper bracket against the main bracket. The expansion-shrinking device has a screw shaft and nut which form the shaft and bush device.

A power assisted steering system of the type which includes a hydraulic reaction mechanism for controlling the hydraulic power assist in accordance with an increase or decrease of the vehicle speed. The system includes primary and secondary hydraulic pumps, the primary pump having the function of applying hydraulic pressure to the power cylinder and the secondary pump having the function of applying hydraulic pressure to the reaction mechanism in proportion to the vehicle speed. The secondary pump is unitedly assembled with the primary pump to be driven by the prime mover, and comprises a first control valve for controlling the quantity of fluid applied to the reaction mechanism for the secondary pump in a constant amount, and a second control valve for controlling the pressure of fluid controlled by the first control valve in accordance with the vehicle speed.

Power assisted steering system

In a tilt steering equipment including a main bracket mounted to a vehicle body; an upper bracket with a steering wheel, which is pivoted at the main bracket around a tilt center; and a driving means supported by the main bracket to tilt the upper bracket against the main bracket, the driving means in fixed to the main bracket and has a drive center spaced from the tilt center and an engaging pin which rotates around the drive center. The upper bracket has an engaging slotted hole in which the engaging pin is inserted. According to the tilt steering equipment of this invention, the drive center of the driving means is spaced from the tilt center. Therefore, it is easy to assemble the equipment with high accuracy and a smaller torque is enough to tilt the upper bracket to the main bracket.

Telescopic steering column assembly

A fastening device for a tiltable steering shaft assembly of the type in which when shifted into a remote position upwardly from a pre-selected angular position, the steering wheel is automatically returned to the pre-selected angular position and locked at the same position only by depression of the steering wheel. The fastening device comprises a first manual lever arranged to release lock of the fastening device for permitting upward movement of the steering wheel to the remote position, and a second manual lever arranged to readjust the pre-selected angular position of the steering wheel in accordance with a user's physique, in which the first manual lever is cooperable with the second manual lever in operation of the latter to carry out readjustment of the pre-selected angular position of the steering wheel in a simple manner.
