A method for manufacturing a vehicle seat component includes a first step of integrating a cushion member and an upholstery member together during molding of the cushion member, and a second step of forming a flow passage through which air passes from a back surface of the cushion member toward the upholstery member.

Method for manufacturing vehicle seat component

A vehicle seat including a seat structure member, and a fan device installed on the seat structure member is provided. The seat structure member may include a cushion material which configures an outer shape of the seat and supports an occupant, an air flow passage which communicates a seating side of the seat structure member with a surface of the cushion material at a side different from the seating side of the seat structure member, and a cover member which is configured to cover the air flow passage to allow a fan device to feed air to an occupant via the air flow passage. The cushion material and the cover member may be provided with a recess portion which is positioned around the air flow passage, and the cover member is fixed to the surface of the cushion material with an adhesive in the recess portion.

Vehicle seat

A cover has a breathable first portion arranged on a seating side of a seat structure member, a second portion that is laminated to the first portion and inhibits penetration of resin foam material, and a passage portion through which air passes that is provided on the second portion. A protruding portion is arranged face-to-face with the passage portion while the cover is arranged in a cavity, and the cushion is formed with an interposed member that is less rigid than the cover being interposed between the passage portion and the protruding portion.

Seat structure member and vehicle seat

There is provided a vehicle seat having an air passage formed to extend in an in-plane direction in a pad for supporting a body of an occupant. The vehicle seat includes a seat frame which supports a peripheral portion of the pad from a rear side thereof; and a support body which is supported by the seat frame and is configured to elastically support, from a rear side, a high-load portion of a center of the pad on which a body pressure of the occupant is concentrated, wherein the air passage is formed at a position avoiding the high-load portion of the pad supported by the support body.

A vehicle seat component includes a cushion member, and an upholstery member that covers the cushion member. The cushion member and the upholstery member are integrated together during molding of the cushion member. The upholstery member has a first portion that is air-permeable and that is arranged at a seating side, and a second portion that is laminated on the first portion and that prevents intrusion of a molding material of the cushion member. A thin section that is recessed toward the upholstery member is formed in a back surface of the cushion member.
