[Object] To provide a wall material and a wall-material building structure that are suitable for achieving high water resistance in the wall-material building structure. [Solution] A wall material X of the present invention has a surface-side joint portionand a rear-side joint portion. A first resin filmis provided on at least one of an end surfaceof the surface-side joint portionand an end surfaceof the rear-side joint portion. A second resin filmis provided on at least one of an extension surfaceand an extension surface. At a splice part where the surface-side joint portionof one wall material X and the rear-side joint portionof another wall material X are spliced together in a first direction D, the end surfacesandand the first resin filmare disposed such that the end surfacesandface each other while a gap between the end surfacesandis filled with at least the first resin film, and the extension surfacesandand the second resin filmare disposed such that the extension surfacesandface each other while a gap between the extension surfacesandis filled with at least the second resin film. A wall-material building structure Y of the present invention is formed by using such a wall material X.
