To provide a novel lactic acid bacterium strain having a broad antibacterial spectrum against bacteria that cause oral diseases, from which a fermented product having good flavor and being excellent in palatability can be produced, and a prophylactic, ameliorating or therapeutic agent for oral diseases using the same. A prophylactic, ameliorating or therapeutic agent for an oral disease, which contains a lactic acid bacterial cell of one or more kinds selected from the group consisting ofstrain KO3,strain YU3 andstrain YU4 or a culture of the cell, or an extract thereof, as an active ingredient.

Prophylactic, ameliorating or therapeutic agent for oral diseases

Disclosed is an antibacterial agent composition which is highly safe and has excellent antibacterial abilities, by using a silicon-containing compound that is obtained by a specific manufacturing method. The antibacterial agent composition has a more stable antibacterial component, and is capable of imparting antibacterial abilities to teeth, while being also capable of cleaning an article or the mouth. Also disclosed are: an antiviral agent composition which is highly safe and has excellent virus deactivation abilities; an antibacterializing method, a cleaning/mouth rinsing method, each using the antibacterial agent composition or the antiviral agent composition; and a method for fixing an antibacterial agent or an antiviral agent. The antibacterial agent composition may contain a silicon-containing compound which is represented by general formula (1) and obtained by reacting a specific triethoxysilyl compound in an ethanol solvent.

Provided is a bacteriocin that is capable of being easily mass-produced, has high antimicrobial activity even at low concentration, has a wide antimicrobial spectrum, and is less likely to produce resistant microorganisms. The bacteriocin has the amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 1 or SEQ ID NO: 2 in SEQUENCE LISTING, or has the same amino acid sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO: 1 or SEQ ID NO: 2 in SEQUENCE LISTING except that one or several amino acids are deleted, substituted, inserted and/or added, wherein the amino acid sequence provides antimicrobial activity and the isoelectric point is not less than 12.

A method for manufacturing an implant material includes preparing a base material for implant, removing moisture from a chamber in which the base material is placed, and introducing material gas as a carbon source and a silicon source into the chamber after the removal of the moisture to form a carbon thin film containing a C&#x2014;C component in which carbon atoms are bonded, and a SiC component in which carbon and silicon atoms are bonded on a surface of the base material by ionized deposition.

Method for manufacturing an implant material

An object of the present invention is to provide a method of fixing an antibacterial agent, by which method it is possible to impart articles of a wide range of materials with excellent antibacterial property and good persistence of antibacterial activity. Specifically, the method of fixing an antibacterial agent, comprises the steps of: wherein Rrepresents a hydrocarbon group having 6 or more carbon atoms, Rand Rrepresent lower hydrocarbon groups, respectively, which hydrocarbon groups may be the same or different from each other, Rrepresents a divalent lower hydrocarbon group, R, Rand Rrepresent lower alkyl groups or lower alkoxy groups, respectively, which may be the same or different from each other, and X represents a halogen ion or an organic carbonyloxy ion, or alternatively, first treating the article by using the antibacterial agent composition; and then subjecting the article to a 1-10 GHz microwave irradiation treatment in a state where the antibacterial agent composition remains on the surface of the article.

Method of fixing antibacterial agent and article obtained by the method

According to the present invention, a solidified detergent composition is provided. The solidified detergent composition is characterized by having a reduced-pressure dried substance obtained by reduced-pressure drying a solution of (a) a silicon-containing compound with the addition of (b) at least one of surfactant to the silicon-containing compound, or a reduced-pressure dried substance obtained by reduced-pressure drying a solution of (a) a silicon-containing compound and (b) at least one of surfactant added to the resultant reduced-pressure dried substance, the silicon-containing compound being represented by the following general formula (1):  (wherein R1 shows a hydrocarbon group having 6 or more carbon atom number, R2 and R3 show a lower hydrocarbon group which may be same or different each other, R4 shows a bivalent lower hydrocarbon group, R5, R6 and R7 show a lower alkyl group or lower alkoxy group which may be same or different each other, X shows a halogen ion or organic carbonyloxy ion) and the surfactant being selected from the group consisting of (b1) a cationic surfactant (but excluding the above silicon-containing compound) and (b2) a nonionic surfactant.

Silicon compound-containing solidified detergent composition and method for producing the same

It is intended to provide a novel peptide which can exert higher antifungal effect also on a patient whose organ function is impaired with no side effect problems.
