An easily regeneratable printed thermoplastic resin product is provided by printing it with a specific radiation-curable ink composition and curing the printed ink with radiation to form a cured ink film thereon. The ink composition comprises a vehicle mixture containing: (A) at least one linear polyester oligomer and/or polymer substantially free of an acid group and a polymerizable double bond on the linear polyester chain wherein 1 to 10 double bonds are pendent from the linear polyester chain, and/or mixture thereof, (B) at least one single double bond-containing carboxylic acid and/or ester and/or amide wherein the acid has at least one acid group, and/or mixture thereof, (C) a double bond-containing polycarboxylic ester wherein 2 to 10 acid groups are present and at least 2 double bonds are pendent from the carboxylic ester having 2 to 10 acid groups, (D) at least one double bond-containing fluorinated carboxylic ester, and/or block copolymer comprising a fluorinated alkyl group-containing polymer segment and a (meth)acrylic polymer segment, and/or block copolymer comprising a siloxane group-containing polymer segment and a (meth)acrylic polymer segment, and/or mixture thereof, (E) a double bond-containing carboxylic ester, having at least 2 double bonds and free of an acid group, provided that it is excluded from the above-mentioned ingredient (A), and (F) at least one single double bond-containing carboxylic ester and/or amide and/or imide free of an acid group, and/or mixture thereof, wherein the acid value of the vehicle mixture is from 5 to 100. The ink is useful in displaying and decorating trade names, designs, explanatory notes, bar code, etc. on specific thermoplastic products and the cured ink film is easily detachable with an aqueous alkali solution.

A radiation-curable ink composition contains a vehicle mixture comprising: (A) at least one linear polyester oligomer and/or polymer substantially free of an acid group and free of a polymerizable double bond in a molecule, wherein 1 to 10 double bonds are pendent from the linear polyester chain, and/or mixture thereof, (B) at least one single double bond-containing carboxylic acid wherein the acid has at least one acid group, and/or carboxylic ester of the said acid, and/or carboxylic amide of the said acid, and/or mixture thereof, (C) a double bond-containing polycarboxylic ester, wherein 2 to 10 acid groups are present and at least 2 double bonds are pendent from the ester having 2 to 10 acid groups, (D) at least one double bond-containing fluorinated carboxylic ester, and/or block copolymer comprising a fluorinated alkyl group-containing polymer segment and a (meth)acrylic polymer segment, and/or block copolymer comprising a siloxane group-containing polymer segment and a (meth)acrylic polymer segment, and/or mixture thereof, (E) a double bond-containing carboxylic ester, having at least 2 double bonds and free of an acid group, provided that it is excluded from the above-mentioned ingredient (A), and (F) at least one single double bond-containing carboxylic ester and/or amide and/or imide free of an acid group, and/or mixture thereof, wherein the acid value of the vehicle mixture is from 5 to 100, is provided. The ink is useful in displaying and decorating trade names, designs, explanatory notes, bar code, etc. on specific thermoplastic products and the cured ink film is easily detachable with an aqueous alkali solution.

Ink compositions

An excellent ultraviolet ray-curable ink for printing which shrinks little at the time of curing, and exhibits high adhesion, followability, aging-crack resistance, elasticity, elongation, tenacity, chemical resistance, and a scratch resistant property, by a novel ultraviolet ray-curable ink comprising by weight; 100 parts of an ultraviolet ray-curable rubbery copolymer having the general formula ##STR1## wherein R represents an alkylene group having 2-8 carbon atoms, R.sub.1 is H or CH.sub.3, R.sub.2 is a residue of diisocyanate, R.sub.3 is a residue of dihydric alcohol from which at least one or more hydroxyl group is removed, X is a moiety of dienic liquidus rubber having at least one or more hydroxyl groups from which at least one or more hydroxyl groups is removed, l is a number of 1-4, m is a number of 1.0&lt;m&lt;3.0, n is a number of 1-12; 50-500 parts of at least one kind of mono or polyfunctional monomer; 0-300 parts of at least one kind of mono or polyfunctional photopolymerizable oligomer; and 1-30 parts of a photopolymerization initiator.

Ultraviolet ray-curable ink

A splendid tentative surface protective coating which is useful in treating a surface of a substance by soldering or plating and which is peeled off easily from the surface after the treating is formed by preparing a solventless or solvent free type screen ink based on essentially an ultraviolet ray-curable rubbery elastomer, applying a coating of the ink on the surface of the substrate by screen printing or thin film coating, and curing the coating of the ink by irradiation with an ultraviolet ray. The tentative surface protective coating can reproduce exactly a pattern of a mask or screen, have a high chemical resistance and heat resistance, even if it has a thin thickness of 30 .mu.m, and have no afraid of deformation caused by heat curing, whereby a precise and shortened surface treatment of the surface of the substance can be afforded. Also, working environment is improved, and air conditioning equipment can be dispensed with owing to an absence or diminishment of an organic solvent. In addition, according to the present invention, an excellent ink composition is provided which is much suited to screen printing.
