An electronic appliance has a first polarization convertible diffraction device which splits laser light emitted from a light source into a plurality of components of the laser light; a second polarization convertible diffraction device which combines together the plurality of components of the laser light into combined laser light; an optical path length adjuster which adjusts the optical path length difference between the plurality of components of the laser light along the path between the first and second polarization convertible diffraction devices; and an angle-of-incidence adjuster which adjusts, to predetermined angles, the angles of incidence at which the plurality of components of the laser light are respectively incident on the second polarization convertible diffraction device.

Electronic appliance, and method for combining together laser light

This projector includes a laser light generation portion, a projection portion scanning laser light, and a projection screen. The projection screen includes a lens member including a plurality of lens portions splitting the laser light and a diffusion member arranged to be opposed to the lens member, having an incident surface and a diffusion portion. The diffusion portion of the diffusion member is arranged at a position apart by a distance larger than the focal length of the lens member along an optical axis with respect to the optical principal surface of the lens member.

Processing executed by a CPU in a laser projector includes the steps of: driving a scanner mirror in a vertical direction; allowing at least one of a green laser and red/blue lasers to emit light; calculating stay time in a light-receiving region in a photoreceptor; comparing the calculated stay time with ideal stay time T; decreasing a tilt of a drive signal for driving the scanner mirror in the vertical direction if the calculated stay time is shorter than the stay time T; and increasing the tilt of the drive signal if the calculated stay time is longer than the stay time T.

The two-wavelength laser emits red and blue laser beams. Dual-projection projector and method for projecting images on a plurality of planes

A projector that can prevent laser light from entering eyes is provided. A process that controls the projector includes the steps of detecting turning-on of power to the projector; detecting an input for adjusting the reflection direction of a two-axis galvanometer mirror; sending an instruction to reduce output from respective lasers, to an FPGA; setting signal values of the lasers respectively controlled by laser control circuits, to small values; determining whether a certain period of time has elapsed since an operation input is no longer performed on an operation panel; standing by the process for a certain period of time when the certain period of time has not elapsed since an operation input is no longer performed; and returning the signal values to a normal level when the certain period of time has elapsed since an operation input is no longer performed.

An image display apparatus is provided that allows a user to check image content even in a place where there is no projection screen. A projector that is one mode of the image display apparatus includes a casing, a projection aperture provided in the casing, and an internal projection mirror and a built-in screen that are provided in a casing. When the projector is being folded, laser light emitted from the projection aperture is reflected by the internal projection mirror. The reflected light is projected onto the built-in screen, whereby an image is displayed.

An imaging device determines whether, in an image captured by an imaging unit, straight lines exist which meet a condition of automatic vertical line determination (S). If straight lines meeting the condition exist (YES in S), the imaging device performs a vertical line determination process to extract vertical lines and so on (S). On LCD, the imaging device displays the vertical lines extracted in Stogether with auxiliary lines including one connecting a calculated vanishing point and a target point (S). The imaging device detects its inclination based on these lines including the vertical lines, and displays a message of 'OK' on LCD when the inclination is within a predetermined range to notify a user to that effect. Thus, without increasing the manufacturing cost, the imaging device can prevent a user from capturing a target object while the imaging device is inclined to the horizontal direction in an image space.

A first portable terminal receives a GPS signal transmitted from a satellite via radio waves with a signal reception means, and a short distance wireless communication means transfers this received signal to a second portable terminal. Furthermore, upon receipt of this signal transferred from the first portable terminal, the second portable terminal processes the received signal with a position measurement means, and thereby measures the position of the first portable terminal. Since the communication between the first portable terminal and the second portable terminal is by short distance wireless communication, accordingly these two portable terminals are positioned approximately at the same location. And a position measurement result notification means of the second portable terminal notifies its own position, which the position measurement means has acquired, to the first portable terminal.
