Provided is a material (cigarette component) that enables the elimination or minimization of illicit cigarette production. Specifically, related is a cigarette filter tow band including a crimped bundle of filaments. The tow band includes a detectable marker for identifying the source of the tow band.

Cigarette filter tow band

To provide a cigarette filter that can achieve both strength in a dry state and disintegration in a wet state, this cigarette filter has a filter plug containing a cellulose ester staple fiber, a pulp, and an alkali metal salt of a water-soluble anionic polymer. The filter plug has an alkali metal content of 2 to 100 &#x3bc;mol per gram of the filter plug. The water-soluble anionic polymer may include at least one member selected from the group consisting of a polyacrylic acid and a polysaccharide having a carboxyl group.

Cigarette filter

A crosslinked composite membrane having high permeation velocity and sepaion factor and a process for producing the same. The membrane comprises a skin layer comprising a crosslinking reaction product of a water-soluble polysaccharide having a sulfonate group and/or a sulfonic acid group and a polyfunctional melamine compound the crosslinked composite membrane can be formed on a porous base such as an ultrafilter.

Crosslinked composite membrane and process for producing the same

A permeable membrane through which water or its vapor permeates selectively nd which contains a polyion complex formed by the association by an ionic bond between an anionic polymer and a cationic polymer on the surface of the membrane and/or in the membrane. This membrane is useful in the separation of water from an aqueous solution of an organic substance or a gaseous mixture of water with an organic substance, and exhibits excellent resistance to solvent, particularly water, and a high permeation rate and a high separation coefficient.

Polymer composite membrane

A crosslinked composite membrane having high permeation velocity and separation factor and a process for producing the same. The membrane comprises a skin layer comprising a crosslinking reaction product of a water-soluble polysaccharide having a sulfonate group and/or a sulfonic acid group and a polyfunctional melamine compound. The crosslinked composite membrane can be formed on a porous base such as an ultrafilter.
