An image forming apparatus has a speaker that is stored inside a housing and includes an attachment guide to which the speaker is attached on a housing front surface. A waste toner collecting device includes a waste toner container having an opening at an upper portion, and a shutter mechanism that opens or closes the opening. The shutter mechanism includes a receiving portion including an insertion port through which the waste toner discharging unit is inserted, the receiving portion having an inner space connected with an inner space of the waste toner container through the opening, a shutter member disposed in the receiving portion to be movable between an open position and a closing position, and an urging member that urges the shutter member to the closing position. The shutter member includes a ridge on an upper portion of an outer circumferential surface. The ridge has a protrusion height corresponding to a gap between the outer circumferential surface and an inner circumferential surface of the receiving portion.

Waste toner collecting device and image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus includes a duct through which air taken in from outside a housing is sent into the housing, a blower fan provided at an upstream end of the duct, a toner bottle provided facing a wall surface of the duct, and a fixing section provided on a downstream side of the toner bottle. A component-facing section facing the toner bottle is formed to be smaller in cross-sectional area than a fan placement section. Therefore, by absorbing heat of air around the toner bottle via a wall of the component-facing section, the component-facing section prevents the toner bottle from becoming hot.

An image forming apparatus provided with a resin frame made of a resin, an image forming unit and a fixing unit includes a duct for allowing air to flow between the image forming unit and the fixing unit. The resin frame includes a main frame to which the image forming unit is attached, and a fixing unit attachment frame that is separate from the main frame and to which the fixing unit is attached, and the fixing unit attachment frame has a duct portion that constitutes at least one part of the duct.
