According to one embodiment, a contents list providing apparatus includes a list obtaining unit which obtains a contents list of contents stored in a contents server coupled to the contents list providing apparatus via a network. An updated list generating unit generates, based on the contents list obtained by the list obtaining unit, an updated contents list including an updated content. An updated list providing unit provides, to a communication terminal coupled to the network, the updated contents list generated by the updated list generating unit.

According to one embodiment, an electronic apparatus includes a wireless communication device, an information acquisition module, a file management information generation module, and an access control module. The information acquisition module acquires, by wireless communication with an external device, metadata corresponding to content data which the external device can provide. The file management information generation module generates, based on the acquired metadata, file management information based on which a host apparatus recognizes the content data as a file stored in a storage medium in the electronic apparatus. The access control module is configured to, upon receiving a read request for a file corresponding to the content data, which is transmitted from the host apparatus, execute external device access processing of acquiring the content data from the external device using the wireless communication device, and output the acquired content data to the host apparatus.

According to one embodiment, an electronic apparatus is detachably connected to a host apparatus. The electronic apparatus includes a file management information generation module. The file management information generation module generates file management information based on which a host apparatus recognizes each of content data items as a file stored in a storage medium, the file management information being indicative of a plurality of starting storage locations on the storage medium corresponding to starting data blocks of the content data items, and a plurality of shared storage locations on the storage medium, which are shared by the content data items and correspond to second and following data blocks of each of the content data items.

An electronic apparatus includes a network connecting unit configured to make network connection with a client. A storage unit stores content which has been compressed and encoded. A transcoding unit is configured to convert the content stored in the storage unit to content compressed and encoded in a different format for the client connected via the network connecting unit. Electronic apparatus and content managing method for storage and transmission of compressed and encoded content in a network

A portable electronic device includes a transmitting circuit, an X-ray detector, and a controller. The transmitting circuit includes a power amplifier for amplifying radio waves. The detector is arranged to detect X-rays radiated from an installation arranged on a passageway to an area where radiation of electromagnetic waves is restricted. When X-rays with a certain intensity or more are detected by the detector, a controller recognizes that the device is about to enter the area, and reduce the gain of the power amplifier, so that the transmitting circuit is set to be unable to radiate radio waves.

A antenna is disposed in an upper end of the display case opposite a hinge mechanism connecting the display case to a main body. The display case is movable between an open and a closed position. The antenna has radiation characteristics that provide reception and transmission capability when the display case is either in the open or closed position.
