An absorbent article has a length direction, a width direction and a thickness direction, and is provided at least with an absorbent body including water-absorbent fibers. The absorbent body includes deformation-guiding portions which extend in a predetermined direction, and base portions provided on both sides of each deformation-guiding portion. The deformation-guiding portions are provided with compressed regions which extend in said predetermined direction and in which the absorbent body has been compacted in the thickness direction, and protruding portions which extend in the predetermined direction on both sides of each compressed region and which protrude from the base portion toward the skin surface. The configuration is such that the fiber density of the protruding portions is less than the fiber density of the base portion.

Absorbent article

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacture of an absorbent article, with which it is possible to form a desired coloring pattern upon an absorbent article and to reliably manage the quality of said coloring pattern. Provided is a method for manufacture of an absorbent article, in which: microcapsules, which are provided upon a substrate and in which coloring agents are enclosed, are destroyed in a prescribed pattern, and the coloring agents discharged upon the substrate; and the substrate is coated with a developer, causing the coloring to be expressed in the prescribed pattern via a reaction between the coloring agents and the developer.

A disposable diaper, having a longitudinal direction and a lateral direction, an absorbent main body having an absorbent body, a back waist part located on one end of the absorbent main body, and an abdominal waist part located on another end of the absorbent body, the absorbent body having side parts in the lateral direction provided with a pair of embossed lines formed by embossing from a skin side of the absorbent body, and the embossed lines each including a protrusion point, protruding inward in the lateral direction, located in a center of the disposable diaper in the longitudinal direction in a midsection of the disposable diaper or on a back waist part side with respect to the center, and a back line, linear or curved outward, extending outward in the lateral direction from the protrusion point, as a starting point, toward the back waist part in the longitudinal direction.

The present invention addresses the problem of providing an absorbent article in which a bonding part for bonding a liquid-permeable layer to an absorbent core has been formed in a low-basis-weight region of the absorbent core and which has all of sufficient flexural rigidity of the bonding part, sufficient bonding strength of the bonding part, and sufficient liquid-absorbing properties. This problem is solved with an absorbent core which comprises a first region that has a given absorbent-material basis weight and second regions (regions) that have a lower absorbent-material basis weight than the first region, wherein the ratio of the basis weight of a highly absorbing polymer to the basis weight of the absorbent material in the second regions is regulated to 10/100 to 47/100, and compressed parts are formed inside the second regions.

An absorbent body in absorbent articles that causes exudates to disperse in a planar direction and a method of producing the same. The absorbent body has an absorbent core material covered with a cover sheet. The core material has a mass per unit area of 650 g/mor less and includes a first liquid absorbent layer containing hydrophilic fibers and superabsorbent polymer particles in a mixed state and a second liquid absorbent layer containing the hydrophilic fibers but none of the superabsorbent polymer particles, wherein the first liquid absorbent layer and the second liquid absorbent layer are overlap with each other and the hydrophilic fibers are in contact with each other between the first liquid absorbent layer and the second liquid absorbent layer.

Absorbent body in absorbent article and method for producing the same

The present invention provides a bodily fluid-absorbent structure improved so as to facilitate bodily fluids to disperse in a thickness direction of the structure. Core material of a bodily fluid-absorbent structure is formed of an aggregation of fluff wood pulp fibers. The aggregation has a basis mass in a range of 150 to 500 g/mand a specific volume in a range of 3 to 20 cc/g. In the aggregation, a relationship between horizontal orientation index Iand specific volume VSP of fluff wood pulp fibers is represented by a formula as follows:Iis less than or equal to &#x2212;0.099VSP+2.4.

Component thermoplastic synthetic fiber having inelastic extensibility as well as fiber diameter of 5-20 &#x3bc;m constituting a fibrous web is obtained by melt spinning a mixture of two or more thermoplastic synthetic resins each having a number-average molecular weight in a range of 20000-150000 at a draft ratio of 200-2300. In the case of the mixture consisting of at least two types of thermoplastic synthetic resin Ra, Rb having number-average molecular weights Ma, Mb, respectively, wherein a ratio Ma/Mb is 1.1 or higher, Ra is of 20-80 wt %, Rb is of 80-20 wt % and a sum of Ra and Rb makes up 50-100 wt % of the mixture.

Process for making fibrous web having inelastic extensibility

An elastically stretchable composite sheet includes an elastically stretchable first web and an inelastically stretchable second web of thermoplastic synthetic resin fiber which is intermittently bonded to the first web in a y-direction. Component fiber of the second web has its cress-section cut in a direction orthogonal to the y-direction defined by a width w and a height h dimensioned to be at a ratio h/w less than 0.5. The composite sheet having such a structure improve its flexibility.

Elastically stretchable composite sheet and process for making the same

A composite sheet adapted to be used as a stock material for disposable garments comprises a film-like upper layer and a lower layer formed by a fibrous assembly. The upper layer is formed with a first surface region having plane zones and aperture arrays and a second surface region in the form of a depression. The lower layer has its density higher in a region immediately underlying the second surface region than in a region immediately underlying the first surface region. The composite sheet including such constituent features is suitable as stock material for disposable garments which require a soft touch and a rapid permeation of body fluids discharged on the garments.

A body absorbent article such as a sanitary napkin including a topsheet having a skin-contactable surface, a skin-noncontactable surface and a plurality of liquid passages extending through the topsheet from the skin-contactable surface to the skin-noncontactable surface, wherein the topsheet comprises a base layer made of a hydrophilic thermoplastic synthetic resin film or nonwoven fabric and formed with the liquid passages and a flocked layer formed on a top surface of the base sheet.

Body fluid absorbent article

A topsheet for body fluids absorbent article is made of thermoplastic synthetic fibers mechanically entangled so as to extend substantially in a desired one direction and formed with liquid-permeable openings. The openings comprise a first group of openings each having a substantially oval shape defined by its major axis extending substantially in parallel to the direction in which the fibers extend and its minor axis extending orthogonally to the major axis and a second group of openings each having a substantially oval shape defined by its minor axis extending substantially in parallel to the direction in which the fibers extend and its major axis extending orthogonally to the minor axis.

A topsheet for body exudates absorbent article includes a hydrophilic nonwoven fibrous sheet and a plurality of thermoplastic synthetic resin filaments extending in one direction parallel to one another and continuously bonded to an upper surface of the nonwoven fibrous sheet so that a composite sheet of these sheet and filaments have crests and troughs alternately repeating longitudinally of the filaments and respectively extend transversely of the filaments. An apparatus and a method for manufcturing the topsheet are also disclosed, wherein a pair of mutually engageable embossing rolls are used for forming the crests and the troughs onto the coposite sheet.
