A method of manufacturing a non-reciprocal component including a casing having an input/output terminal and a ground terminal formed therein, a ferrite plate, a line conductor, and a magnet disposed in the casing, and an upper yoke and a lower yoke provided at the top face and the bottom face of the casing, respectively. In the non-reciprocal component, the casing is insert-molded with the lower yoke so that a portion of the casing penetrates through the lower yoke. A side of the component is defined partly by the lower yoke and partly by the penetrating portion of the casing. An input/output terminal and a ground terminal in the casing are defined by respective portions of a molded hoop material.

Method of manufacturing a nonreciprocal device

A nonreciprocal circuit device as a lumped-constant isolator includes a metal lower case portion, a resin terminal case, a central electrode assembly, a metal upper case portion, a permanent magnet, an insulating spacer, a resistor element, and matching capacitors. The thickness of the resistor element is not less than 0.1 mm and not greater than 0.5 mm.

Nonreciprocal circuit device and communication apparatus including the same

The present invention provides a nonreciprocal circuit device which allows the relationship between the input and the output to be reversed using the identical terminal layout on a mounting substrate, only by preparing for a single type of nonreciprocal circuit device, and also provides a communication apparatus using this nonreciprocal circuit device. In this reciprocal circuit device, a plurality of centeral conductors are disposed on a ferrite on which DC magnetic field is to be applied, in a state of intersecting one another, matching capacitors are each connected between the ports of the centeral conductors and grounds, and a terminating resistor is connected between a predetermined port and a ground. In a resin case , input/output terminals which are conductively connected to the respective ports are disposed at substantially rotation-symmetrical positions with respect to the center of the bottom surface of the resin case.

A nonreciprocal circuit device, which includes a permanent magnet; a ferrite to which a DC magnetic field is applied by the permanent magnet; a plurality of center electrodes extending from a first major surface of the ferrite to a second major surface of the ferrite via side surfaces of the ferrite; a ground plate disposed on the second major surface side of the ferrite and electrically connected to the plurality of center electrodes; a plurality of matching capacitors electrically connected between the ground plate and port sections of the plurality of center electrodes respectively; and at least one of the matching capacitors being disposed such that the capacitor electrode face thereof and the ferrite form an angle in a range of 60 degrees to 120 degrees.

An isolator serving as a nonreciprocal circuit device includes a permanent magnet, a ferrite to which a DC magnetic field is applied by the permanent magnet, a plurality of center electrodes placed on the ferrite, and upper and lower casings for accommodating the permanent magnet, the ferrite, and the center electrodes. The upper and lower casings are made of a material chiefly containing iron, and the average value of the surface roughness of the casings is less than or equal to 0.9 &mgr;m. The front and rear surfaces of the upper and lower casings are Ag-plated.

A non-reciprocal circuit element which can be miniaturized while still providing a matching capacitance having a large value. A circulator, for example, has central electrodes and a multilayer substrate for forming a matching capacitance. The multilayer substrate is formed by stacking a plurality of dielectric sheets provided with central electrodes or matching capacitive electrodes with each other and integrally firing the same. The matching capacitance is formed by connecting multilayer capacitive parts which are formed by stacking a number of dielectric sheets which are each partially sandwiched by a pair of capacitive electrodes in parallel with each other. An upper surface of the multilayer substrate has a first aperture for receiving a ferrite member and a second aperture for receiving a permanent magnet in positions facing the central electrodes.

Non-reciprocal circuit elements, wherein a plurality of ceramic green sheets having given electrode films with pattern shapes formed respectively on them are collectively fired and integrated into one dielectric basic plate after they have been adhered under pressure by lamination. A plurality of electrode films with pattern shapes are laminated within one dielectric basic plate, so that the internal circuit which includes the central electrode, the matching circuit and so on are disposed with microwave, with the result that they can be smaller in size, higher in performance and easier to manufacture.

The ferrite assembly and the dielectric substrate are stacked such that lead-out portions of the central conductors are, respectively, connected to the impedance matching electrodes, while earthing portions of the central conductors and the earthing electrode are grounded.
