A media processing apparatus includes a media transporter, a stacking portion on which media are stacked, a binding processing portion that binds an upstream end portion of a media bundle, a pair of ejection rollers that eject the media bundle, and a displacement mechanism that displaces a first roller of the pair of ejection rollers to a nipping position at which the media bundle is nipped and a separated position at which the first roller is separated from the media bundle, in which, when the media bundle, the upstream end portion of which is closed, is to be ejected from the stacking portion, the first roller is disposed in the nipping position and ejection of the media bundle is started, the first roller is displaced to the separated position during ejection of the media bundle, and, thereafter, the first roller is disposed again at the nipping position.

Media processing apparatus and recording apparatus

A liquid ejecting apparatus includes: an ejection portion that ejects liquid onto a medium; a waste liquid container having a container that is configured to store a waste liquid discharged from the ejection portion; a housing that houses the ejection portion; and a humidity adjustment portion that adjusts humidity inside the housing. The waste liquid container is configured to store moisture discharged from the humidity adjustment portion.

Liquid ejecting apparatus

A transport roller, adapted to be used in a transport apparatus that transports a medium, includes a shaft, and a wheel group. The wheel group includes a plurality of toothed wheels arrayed in a direction in which the shaft extends, the plurality of toothed wheels being held by a holder which is held by the shaft. A plurality of teeth portions are provided on a peripheral surface of the wheel group, the plurality of teeth portions being disposed to be shifted in position from each other in a circumferential direction of the wheel group when the wheel group is viewed from the direction in which the shaft extends.

Printing apparatus

A printing apparatus includes a transporting device that transports a medium and a printing unit that prints onto the medium. In addition, the printing apparatus includes an image sensor that images the medium and a controller that detects a displacement amount of the medium in an intersecting direction which intersects a surface to be printed of the medium based on a plurality of images obtained by imaging the medium by the sensor at different times and that controls the transporting device and the printing unit according to the displacement amount.

A printing apparatus includes a printing unit that prints an image on a sheet by using ink, a feed path along which the sheet is transported toward the printing unit, a switchback mechanism that, when two sides of the sheet are to be printed, switches back the sheet of which one of the two sides has been printed and sends the sheet to the feed path, and a correction roller pair capable of correcting skew of the sheet by having firm contact with the sheet transported along the feed path.

There is provided a recording apparatus including: a recording section that performs recording on a recording medium; a cable relay section that is provided between a first area, in which the recording section is arranged, and a second area in which a control section for control is arranged, and that relays cables; a first cable that is configured to extend from the recording section and is connected to the cable relay section on a side of the first area; and a second cable that is configured to extend from the control section and is connected to the cable relay section on a side of the second area.

There is provided a recording apparatus including: a first member having a first sliding surface formed into a comb shape along the direction of movement of an object; a second member having a second sliding surface formed into a comb shape opposing the first sliding surface of the first member with the intermediary of a viscous member, the second member sliding between a first position which causes a restricting member to be positioned at a restricting position and a second position which causes the restricting member to be positioned at the releasing position in a state of engaging the restricting member; and a urging device configured to apply an urging force which causes the second member to slide from the first position to the second position, the urging device being arranged at least partly between tips and roots of teeth of the comb shape of the second sliding surface.

A recording apparatus includes a slider that has a cam face with which a cam of the stopper comes into sliding contact and moves in the insertion direction from a first position to a second position with a resistance when the cassette is inserted into the mounting unit. The cam face includes a first cam face on which the cam slides when the slider moves from the first position to the second position and a press cam face against which the cam presses when the paper sheet comes into contact with the stopper. The press cam face has an inclination relative to a reference straight line which is perpendicular to a plane parallel to the insertion direction of the cassette which is greater than that relative to a straight line which extends from the contact point between the press cam face and the cam to the shaft.

A recording device includes a cassette having a protruding portion; a lever as a transmission member in which the distance from a shaft portion to an abutting portion is shorter than the distance from the shaft portion to a connection portion, the lever transmitting a force that the abutting portion receives from the cassette to the connection portion as an acting force by rotating on shaft portion as the axis when the protruding portion of the cassette abuts on the abutting portion; a damper mechanism portion; a separation slope separating the papers; and a stopper as a restriction member restricting the movement of the papers at an upstream side position in the installation direction of the separation slope, and releasing the restriction on the movement of papers by retreating from the position where the stopper restricts the papers when receiving the acting force from the damper mechanism portion.

Recording device

A damper member moves a stopper after a delay in time from a restricting position, at which the stopper restricts the movement of paper, to a releasing position, at which the restriction on the movement is released; the damper member includes a base having a first sliding surface along the paper movement direction and also includes a slider, having a second sliding surface facing the first sliding surface through a viscous material, that slides between a first position at which the stopper is placed at the restricting position and a second position at which the stopper is placed at the releasing position; when at least the slider slides and reaches the first position or the second position, a clearance area is formed in the base to store a viscous material, at a position corresponding to the front end in the sliding direction of the slider.

Damper member, transport unit, and recording unit

A sheet material transport apparatus includes a second planetary gear engaging with a transmission gear and providing planetary motion around the transmission gear. The second planetary gear is in a second separated position not capable of engaging with a first planetary gear during forward-direction rotation. The transmission gear engages with the first planetary gear and rotates in a direction that causes a second transport roller to rotate in the forward rotation direction, and positioned to engage with the first planetary gear that is positioned in a first engaging position during reverse rotation. A load is placed on the transmission gear by the second transport roller. The transmission gear rotates in the opposite direction to the forward-direction rotation. The second planetary gear applies a force on the first planetary gear in the direction that separates the first planetary gear from the transmission gear due to rotation.

Sheet material transport apparatus and recording apparatus

A recording medium feeding device includes a recording medium cassette that is detachable from a main body and a recording medium retracting unit that retracts a recording medium lying on a recording medium feeding path back to the recording medium cassette. The recording medium cassette includes a lower tray that accommodates a recording medium, and an upper tray that accommodates a recording medium and is provided to be slidable with respect to the lower tray along a transport direction of the recording medium. The recording medium feeding device is provided with a unit for performing a retracting operation of the recording medium using the recording medium retracting unit in accordance with sliding of the upper tray in the transport direction.

Recording medium feeding device and recording apparatus

An edge regulating device that regulates edge of a printing medium by an edge guide includes a first holding unit that is able to hold the edge guide with a predetermined pitch along the direction of displacement of the edge guide and a second holding unit that is able to hold the edge guide with a pitch larger than the holding pitch by the first holding unit along the direction of displacement of the edge guide.

Edge regulating device, printing medium cassette, and printing apparatus

A cassette for mounting on an image forming apparatus body and supplying media to the apparatus body. The cassette includes a first tray, a second tray and a slide mechanism. The first tray and second tray are each able to contain multiple media. The slide mechanism allows the trays to be movable relative to each other. The first tray has an oblique surface and a first separation portion, and the second tray has an oblique surface and a second separation portion. Each of the oblique surfaces can separate an uppermost medium from other media such that distal ends of the media during delivery abut against the oblique surface. Each of the first and second separation portions guides the separated medium along the oblique surface in a paper feeding direction. The first separation portion has a different structure than the second separation portion provided for the second tray.
