A compound superconducting twisted wire includes compound superconducting strands being twisted to form a twisted structure, in which each of the compound superconducting strands includes a compound superconductor part, a reinforcing part and a stabilizing part. The compound superconductor part includes compound superconducting filaments and a first matrix, the compound superconducting filaments each including a compound superconducting phase. The reinforcing part is disposed on an outer circumferential side of the compound superconductor part and includes reinforcing filaments and a second matrix. The stabilizing part is disposed on at least one side of an inner circumferential side and an outer circumferential side of the reinforcing part. A volume ratio of the reinforcing part relative to the compound superconducting strand is larger than a volume ratio of the compound superconductor part relative to the compound superconducting strand.

The superconducting coil includes: a winding frame; and at least two superconducting rectangular wire layers provided in such a manner that a superconducting rectangular wire is spirally wound on an outer surface of the frame such that wires adjacent to each other in an axial direction of the frame are arranged side by side and separated, the wire including an NbTi-based or NbSn-based wire having a surface coated with copper or copper alloy, in which at least a thermoplastic fusible resin is provided in a separated section between the adjacent wires, and when viewed in a cross section including an axis of the frame, at least one of voids that are partitionable on outer surfaces of a total of three wires and a total of four wires located on the two adjacent layers and adjacent to each other are 4% or less in terms of a void ratio (V1).

An insulation-coated compound superconducting wire includes a compound superconducting wire having a compound superconducting part which includes a first matrix and a plurality of compound superconducting filaments containing compound superconducting phases, a reinforcing part disposed on the outer circumferential side of the compound superconducting part and includes a plurality of reinforced filaments, a second matrix and a second stabilizing material. A stabilizing part is disposed on at least one side among the inner circumferential side and the outer circumferential side of the reinforcing part. An electrical insulation part covers the outer circumferential surface of the compound superconducting wire, in which the insulation-coated compound superconducting wire has a critical current value (Ic) larger than that of the compound superconducting wire before being covered with the electrical insulation part.
