The present invention addresses the problem of providing a nonwoven fabric that is bulky, has excellent softness, and has high strength. Provided is a nonwoven fabric in which the points at which heat fusible composite fibers intersect with each other are fused by heat. The nonwoven fabric has a high-density-side surface layer where the fiber density is 5 to 20 fibers/mm. The ratio of the fiber density of the high-density-side surface layer and the fiber density of a low-density-side surface layer of the nonwoven fabric is 1.4 or less. The strength per unit basis weight of the nonwoven fabric is 0.40 N/50 mm or greater.

Rugged elastic nonwoven fabric and method for manufacturing the same

The invention provides a nonwoven fabric which can improve these problems of the conventional technologies, can be produced at relatively low costs, is bulky and excellent in cushioning properties, has a good texture and is excellent in shaping ability at post-processing. Specifically, the present invention provides a bulky nonwoven fabric, comprising a fiber layer A containing a spiral crimp fiber and a fiber layer B, wherein the fiber layer B is laminated on at least one surface of the fiber layer A, the spiral crimp fiber of the fiber layer A and the fiber of the fiber layer B are partly entangled and integrated at the interface in a thickness direction of both layers, the fiber layer B exhibits a structure in which the layer is lifted up to the fiber layer B side between individual entangled parts; and having a specific volume of 30 cm/g or more.

Bulky nonwoven fabric

A nonwoven fabric having a surface concavo-convex structure, and a molded member and a wiping cloth that use the nonwoven fabric are provided. The nonwoven fabric having a surface concavo-convex structure is formed by pressing a planar element having a plurality of apertures against at least one surface of a nonwoven fabric that has been formed by passing hot air through a web including heat adhesive fibers so as to heat-bond interlacing points between the fibers. The pressing process is performed in a state where the nonwoven fabric retains heat in a degree that does not further promote the heat bonding. The nonwoven fabric having a surface concavo-convex structure is soft and exhibits high strength and sufficient resistance against stress.

The composite fibers have a polypropylene as the first component and a polymer mainly composed of a polyethylene as the second component which is continuously present on at least a part of the fiber surface in the lengthwise direction of the fiber; have three-dimensional crimps of 4 to 16/inch; have a filamentary denier of 1.0 to 2.0, and have an apparent cut length of 20 to 40 mm. The composite fibers can be produced by extruding a polypropylene and a polymer mainly comprising a polyethylene through a spinneret for composite spinning to form unstretched composite filaments having such structure as mentioned above, stretching the unstretched composite filaments at a temperature of higher than 90.degree. C., but lower than 130.degree. C. at a stretching ratio of 0.60 to 0.85 time the maximum stretching ratio, cooling the stretched filaments to a temperature lower than a preheating temperature, subjecting the filaments to a crimping treatment, and subjecting the filaments to an annealing at a temperature of higher than 80.degree. C., but lower than 120.degree. C.
