A laminate for tires is a laminate of a layer of a rubber composition and a film comprising a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic elastomer composition; upon dynamic distortion of the film being 0.1%, a storage elastic modulus at 70° C. being 30 MPa or greater, and a thickness of the film being 60 μm or greater; upon dynamic distortion of the rubber composition being 0.1%, a storage elastic modulus at −20° C. being less than 400 MPa and a storage elastic modulus at 70° C. being 8.5 MPa or greater, and a thickness of the rubber composition being 150 μm or greater; and a peel strength between the film and the rubber composition determined by 180° peel test being 30 N/inch or greater.

Laminate for tires

In a pneumatic tire production method including a step of overlapping end portions of a sheet laminate and vulcanization-molding the tire, the sheet laminate being obtained by layering an elastomer layer and a sheet of a thermoplastic resin composition containing a thermoplastic resin or a blend of a thermoplastic resin and an elastomer, after the end portions of the sheet laminate are overlapped, the overlapped portion of the sheet laminate is compression-bonded at a temperature of not less than a glass transition temperature Tg of the thermoplastic resin and not greater than 120&#xb0; C.

Laminate of thermoplastic resin film and rubber, inner liner material, and pneumatic tire

A laminate of a thermoplastic resin or thermoplastic elastomer composition film and a rubber composition layer, which can be used as an inner liner for a pneumatic tire, with improved adhesive strength at the interface of the thermoplastic resin or thermoplastic elastomer composition film and the rubber composition layer. A laminate comprising a thermoplastic resin or thermoplastic elastomer composition film and a rubber composition layer, the rubber composition containing a rubber component, a condensate of a phenol compound and formaldehyde, and methylene donor and a vulcanizing agent, wherein 2.5-40% by mass of the rubber component is halogenated isomonoolefin-p-alkyl styrene copolymer, the content of the condensate is 0.5-20 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the rubber component, and the content of the methylene donor is 0.25-200 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the rubber component.

This tire laminate comprises a film of a thermoplastic resin composition and a layer of a rubber composition, and is characterized in that the rubber composition contains at least one type of rubber component, a condensate of formaldehyde and the compound represented by formula (1) (Rto Rin the formula are defined in the specification), at least one type of methylene donor and a vulcanizing agent, and in that there are 0.5-20 parts by mass of the condensate per total 100 parts by mass of the at least one type of rubber component, there are 0.25-200 parts by mass of the at least one type of methylene donor per total 100 parts by mass of the at least one type of rubber component, the mass ratio of the at least one type of methylene donor and the condensate is 0.5:1-10:1, and, based on the total amount of the at least one type of rubber component, the at least one type of rubber component includes 10-80 mass % of rubber in which the vinyl content in side chains of aliphatic unsaturated hydrocarbons exceeds 11 mol %. This tire laminate exhibits improved adhesive strength between the film of the thermoplastic resin composition and the layer of the rubber composition. 

Tire laminate, inner liner material for tire, and pneumatic tire

A pneumatic tire includes an inner liner layer formed from a laminate sheet obtained by laminating: a sheet made from a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic resin composition which is a blend of the thermoplastic resin and an elastomer; and a rubber bonded by curing to the thermoplastic resin or the thermoplastic resin composition. The pneumatic tire avoids occurrence of cracks near a splice portion of the inner liner layer after the pneumatic tire starts to be used for driving, and thereby achieves excellent durability. In the tire, an inner liner layer is formed by lap-splicing end portions of a laminate sheet which is obtained by the laminating A sheet with end portions each having a tip subjected to a tip sharpening process is used as the sheet made from the thermoplastic resin or the thermoplastic resin composition which is the blend of the thermoplastic resin and the elastomer.

Pneumatic tire

With respect to a laminate of a film formed of a thermoplastic resin or thermoplastic elastomer composition and a layer formed of a rubber composition in which an epoxidized natural rubber is blended, the adhesion between the film and the layer of the rubber composition is improved without using a large amount of the epoxidized natural rubber. A laminate of a film formed of a thermoplastic resin or thermoplastic elastomer composition and a layer formed of a rubber composition, said laminate being characterized in that: 5-60% by mass of a rubber component contained in the rubber composition is composed of an epoxidized natural rubber and 20-50% by mass of the rubber component is composed of a butadiene rubber; and the rubber composition contains an unsubstituted or substituted aromatic carboxylic acid having a pKa of 1.5-4.0 in an amount of 0.5-5 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the rubber component.

Laminate, inner liner material and pneumatic tire

A pneumatic tire is configured in such a manner that at least two carcass layers each have both end portions in the tire width direction extending to bead cores disposed in both bead portions, and the both end portions are wound up from the inner side in the tire width direction of the bead cores to the outer side in the tire width direction, and extend outward in the tire radial direction. In such a pneumatic tire, the carcass layers are formed by thermoplastic sheets, and a rubber layer is disposed at least between adjacent sheets of the thermoplastic sheets.

A pneumatic tire comprising: an inner liner layer formed from a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic elastomer composition obtained by blending a thermoplastic resin with an elastomer; a coating rubber layer; and a tie rubber layer; the pneumatic tire being configured to effectively prevent separation of the inner liner layer. In a pneumatic tire comprising an inner liner layer formed from a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic elastomer composition obtained by blending a thermoplastic resin with an elastomer, a tie rubber layer, and a coating rubber layer, the coating rubber layer and the inner liner layer are disposed in a manner such that the coating rubber layer and the inner liner layer overlap each other, and a rubber composition in at least a region of the coating rubber layer where the coating rubber layer and the inner liner layer overlap has an adhesion to the inner liner layer.

A laminate which is obtained by providing a layer of an adhesive composition, wherein an epoxy-modified elastomer is blended, between a film of a thermoplastic resin or thermoplastic elastomer composition and a layer of a rubber composition, and in which the adhesion between the film and the layer of a rubber composition is further improved. This laminate is characterized in that: the adhesive composition contains a tackifying agent, a vulcanization accelerator, an elastomer and an unsubstituted or substituted aromatic carboxylic acid having a pKa of 1.5-4.0; 50-100% by mass of the elastomer is an epoxy-modified elastomer; and the amount of the aromatic carboxylic acid is 0.5-5 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the elastomer.

The present technology provides a method of manufacturing a pneumatic tire. The method of manufacturing a pneumatic tire uses a laminated sheet having a predetermined length and an inner liner layer formed from the laminated sheet through a step of cure-molding the tire with end portions of the laminated sheet lap-spliced. In the method, when at least the sheet made of thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic resin composition obtained by blending the thermoplastic resin and the elastomer is cut into the predetermined length, the cutting is performed by using an edge tool having a non-sharp edge under a temperature condition not lower than 60&#xb0; C. and not higher than a melting point of the thermoplastic resin.

Method of manufacturing pneumatic tire

In a pneumatic tire containing as an inner liner material a laminate of a film of a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic elastomer composition and a layer of a rubber composition for improving the adhesive strength between the film and the rubber composition, the rubber composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a rubber component, 0.5 to 20 parts by weight of a condensate between a compound expressed by formula (1): wherein R, R, R, Rand Rare hydrogen, a hydroxyl group or a C1 to C8 alkyl group, and formaldehyde, 0.25 to 200 parts by weight of a methylene donor, and a vulcanizing agent; and a weight ratio of the methylene donor content to the condensate content is 0.5 to 10.

Pneumatic tire and laminate

A layered structure suitable for use in a pneumatic tire as an innerliner is prepared by directly bonding a fluid permeation prevention film and an adhesive tie layer. Prior to the bonding, the fluid permeation prevention layer is treated to remove any residual plasticizers or oils on the surface of the film. The tie layer comprises 100 weight % of at least one halogenated isobutylene containing elastomer and about 1 to about 20 parts per hundred (phr) of at least one tackifier. The fluid permeation prevention film comprises an elastomeric component dispersed in a vulcanized or partially vulcanized state, as a discontinuous phase, in a matrix of the thermoplastic resin component. The two layers of the layered structure may be separately extruded and then adhered to each other or adhered to each other during a calendaring operation wherein the adhesive tie layer composition is coated onto the treated film.
