A fuel supplying device for an internal combustion engine having a fuel supply passage (4) for introducing fuel fed from a fuel pump (2) at a substantially constant pressure to a fuel injector (9) operative at a predetermined constant pressure. The fuel injector is installed at a congregated portion (7) of engine intake manifolds (8). A metering valve (11) includes a motor (13) so that drop is maintained substantially constant by a differential regulator (12). The metering valve is disposed in an intermediate portion of the fuel supply passage. Calculating means (15) including a servo signal generator (18) calculates an injection flow amount causing a predetermined air/fuel ratio on the basis of signals of various engine running factors. An operational signal output from the servo signal generating circuit of the calculating means is applied to the drive motor means for driving said metering valve to thereby inject fuel into the intake manifolds.

Fuel supplying device for internal combustion engine

An internal combustion engine comprising a combustion chamber, an injection chamber connected thereto through an injection port, a secondary inlet passage opening to the injection chamber, and a secondary inlet valve for opening and closing the secondary inlet passage. A spark plug extends into the combustion chamber with the spark gap of the plug close to the injection port. At the suction stroke of the engine, air in the injection chamber is injected near to the spark gap through the injection port to blow away the combustion gas around the gap and also to generate a strong swirl and turbulence of the mixture in the combustion chamber, thereby improving firing and combustion of the lean mixture in the combustion chamber to reduce the discharge of noxious components in the exhaust gas and to improve the fuel consumption.

Internal combustion engine

An internal combustion engine comprising a combustion chamber, an injection chamber connected thereto through an injection port, a secondary inlet passage opening to the injection chamber, and a secondary inlet valve for opening and closing the secondary inlet passage. A spark plug is extended into the combustion chamber so as to dispose a spark gap of the plug close to the injection port. At the suction stroke of the engine, air in the injection chamber is injected near to the spark gap through the injection port to blow away the combustion gas around the gap and also to generate a strong swirl and turbulence of the mixture in the combustion chamber, thereby improving firing and combustion of the lean mixture in the combustion chamber to reduce the discharge of noxious components in the exhaust gas and improve the fuel consumption.

An internal combustion engine has a combustion chamber which communicates via an injection port with an injection chamber whose volume is 0.5 cc.about.1.5 cc. During the intake stroke, air-fuel mixture is introduced from an intake port into the combustion chamber, and at the same time, under the influence of high vacuum produced in the combustion chamber, a jet stream of exhaust gas, air or air-fuel mixture is violently injected from the injection port into the combustion chamber via an auxiliary intake passage communicates with the injection chamber through an auxiliary intake valve, so that the jet stream enhances the ignitability by scavenging burned gases from around a spark gap and also generates strong swirl and turbulence of air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber.

In an internal combustion engine, an injection hole is provided in the cylinder head to inject narrow streams of air towards the spark gap, particularly during idling and low load running conditions. The injected air is 5 to 30% by weight of the intake fuel-air mixture provided via the intake manifold and creates a swirl or turbulence thereby increasing combustibility. The hole is connected via a sub intake passage to the main air intake passage upstream of the venturi in the carburetor or between the venturi and throttle valve.

An apparatus for driving a pair of balancers disposed on both sides of an engine, parallel to the crankshaft, and driven rotationally in opposite directions at a speed twice the rotating speed of the crankshaft by the motive power of the crankshaft. An elongate endless member engages rotors, one fitted on each balancer, on a cam shaft, and on the crankshaft. The internal side of the endless member engages with the rotor on one of the balancers. The external side of the endless member engages with the rotor on the other balancer to drive the two balancers reversely to each other without employing any particular reversing mechanism.

Apparatus for driving engine balancers

A crank chamber in a multicylinder-engine is divided by division walls into a plurality of spaces each of which contains one set of cranks fixed to a crankshaft, and in which varying air pressure is developed. The air under such pressure flows into a pressure chamber of an air-pump, as power source to drive the pump; suitably compressed air is produced in a pump chest of this air-pump. This air can be supplied to an exhaust gas passage for recombustion of incompletely oxidized combustive gas in the exhaust gas.

An apparatus for driving at least a pair of balancers which are disposed on both sides of an engine substantially parallel to the crank shaft and so arranged as to rotate in opposite directions at a speed twice the rotating speed of the crank shaft, comprising a gear shaft for reversing one of the balancers and a driving mechanism for driving the other balancer and the camshaft by the crank shaft through a single timing belt or chain, provided in the front or rear part of the cylinder block, in order to dispense with the need of providing separate driving mechanisms for the camshaft and the balancers.

Balancer shafts are provided on the right and left of the crank shaft of an engine and so as to be driven thereby. Each balancer shaft has a balance weight divided into two portions, one on either side of a bearing supporting the balancer shaft. This construction protects the bearings from undesirable wear.

Engine balancer

A diaphragm air pump comprising a diaphragm assembly in a housing to define therewithin a compression chamber and connecting means for transmitting an actuating force from a shaft of an engine to said assembly. The air pump includes resilient means between a diaphragm and said connecting means, thereby increasing the output of the pump at low or middle speed revolutions of the engine.

A four cylinder in-line engine is disclosed with a secondary balancer system, wherein at least one pair of balancer elements are arranged substantially at an identical horizontal distance from the longitudinal axes of the engine cylinders and on lines which are substantially parallel to the plane of the longitudinal axes. The distance taken between the axes of the paired balancer elements in the direction of the cylinder axes is determined at such desired values as to satisfy the engine usage and design. The paired balancer elements are rotated in the opposite directions to each other with a speed of rotation twice as high as that of the engine crackshaft, such that the lower balancer element is rotated in the opposite direction to that of the engine crackshaft.
