To provide an optical transmitter and an optical transmission method that can maintain the quality of an optical output signal in a wide wavelength range, an optical transmitter comprises: an optical modulator that includes an electrode and outputs an optical output signal obtained by modulating input light according to a drive signal applied to the electrode; a driver circuit that generates a drive signal and is connected to the optical modulator to apply a drive signal to one end of the electrode; a first element that is connected to the other end of the electrode and terminates the drive signal; and a controller that sets a first resistance value of the first element and a drive amplitude of the drive signal.

Optical transmitter and optical transmission method

An object is to output an optical signal accurately corresponding to a data signal. A pluggable optical module () includes a pluggable electric connector (), a control unit (), an optical signal output unit (), and a pluggable optical receptor (). The pluggable electric connector () can communicate a modulation signal (MOD) and a control signal (CON) with an optical communication apparatus (). The optical signal output unit () outputs an optical signal (LS) modulated by the modulation scheme by the control signal (CON) in response to the modulation signal (MOD). The pluggable optical receptor () is configured in such a manner that an optical fiber () is insertable into and removable from the pluggable optical receptor (). The pluggable optical receptor () can output the optical signal (LS) output from the optical signal output unit (). The control unit () controls the optical signal output unit () to output the optical signal (LS) of a modulation amplitude set corresponding to the modulation signal (MOD) in the modulation scheme specified by the control signal (CON).

Pluggable optical module and optical communication system

A pluggable optical module includes a pluggable electric connector, a control unit, an optical signal output unit, and a pluggable optical receptor. The pluggable electric connector can communicate a modulation signal and a control signal with an optical communication apparatus. The optical signal output unit outputs an optical signal modulated by the modulation scheme by the control signal in response to the modulation signal. The pluggable optical receptor is configured in such a manner that an optical fiber is insertable into and removable from the pluggable optical receptor. The pluggable optical receptor can output the optical signal output from the optical signal output unit. The control unit controls the optical signal output unit to output the optical signal of a modulation amplitude set corresponding to the modulation signal in the modulation scheme specified by the control signal.

The degrees of freedom are increased for the layout for a member (for example, an upper guide or the like that restricts an up-down direction position of a medium) to be disposed above a storage space for storing a paper sheet-shaped medium, and a disposable space for the member is enlarged. A medium storage box having an internal storage space for storing a paper sheet-shaped medium includes an upper installation member (for example, a lid section) that is disposed above the storage space, and a liquid ejection mechanism that ejects liquid from a liquid ejection nozzle. A liquid ejection direction of the liquid ejection nozzle is set in a direction toward a lower face of the upper installation member.

Medium storage box and medium handling device

A medium storage box includes an internal storage space configured to store a paper sheet-shaped medium. The medium storage box includes: a first opening into which an insertion member is inserted from outside; a second opening through which the medium passes; a first shutter member that closes off the first opening; a second shutter member that closes off the second opening; and a biasing mechanism that biases either the first shutter member, or the second shutter member, or both, in a closing direction. The first shutter member is configured to be pressed by the insertion member and moves in an opening direction during insertion of the insertion member, such that a portion of the first shutter member abuts the second shutter member and moves the second shutter member in an opening direction.

A reject storage box is provided with a sufficiently thick cover body above a second storage space that stores banknote bundles W that a user has forgotten to take, and a guide space is provided penetrating the cover body in an oblique direction. In the reject storage box, when a banknote bundle falls into an intake hole from above, a lower face of the banknote bundle immediately contacts a position toward the top of a main guide face, and the banknote bundle W travels downward through the guide space with the lower face of the banknote bundle W sliding against the main guide face. The reject storage box thereby enables the banknote bundle dropping downward through the guide space to be maintained in a substantially uniform orientation, and ultimately enables the banknote bundle to be stacked neatly inside the second storage space.

Medium bundle storage device and medium processing device

A medium stacking device includes side guides that are respectively disposed in a width direction parallel to a sheet face of the medium and orthogonal to a direction of progress at positions on both sides of a portion of a stage on which a medium is stacked, and that respectively guide the medium discharged from a discharge section in the width direction using a stacking guide face. Each side guide includes a discharge guide face that guides toward a central side in the width direction on progression from the discharge section along the direction of progress, a support guide face that supports the medium from a side of the stage, and a guiding valley portion that is an adjoining portion between the discharge guide face and the support guide face, that causes a vertex or edge of the medium to slide with progression of the medium, and that causes a leading edge portion of the medium in the direction of progress to pass further to a stacking direction side than the stage arm.

In order to reduce a delay at the time of detecting inputted optical signals in an optical receiver using a variable optical attenuator, the optical receiver includes: a variable optical attenuator that outputs optical signals by attenuating the intensity of inputted optical signals; a photoelectric converter that converts the optical signals into electric signals; an amplitude detection circuit that outputs an output voltage based on the amplitude of the electric signals; an optical attenuator control circuit that outputs signals for controlling an attenuation quantity of the variable optical attenuator based on the output voltage; a signal detection circuit that outputs signal detection output by comparing the output voltage and a signal detection threshold voltage, i.e., reference of signal detection, to each other; and a threshold control circuit, which monitors the output voltage, and which changes the signal detection threshold voltage when an output voltage change state becomes stable with time.

The drawer device includes a casing including a specific internal space, a unit that adopts a pulled out state by being pulled out forward from a housed state of being housed in the casing, a subunit in the unit that adopts an open state in which the unit interior is open to the outside by swinging in an opening direction, and adopts a closed state in which the unit interior is closed off from the outside by swinging in a closing direction, and a push-in restriction section that restricts movement of the unit toward the casing when the unit is moved toward the casing with the subunit still in the open state. A medium processor is provided with a medium storage which can house two small storing boxes next to each other and has plural slots into which the two small storing boxes can be detachably loaded. Thus, the two small storing boxes can be loaded in a space equivalent to one conventional bill storing box, and the small storing boxes can be detached for servicing even when there are two small storing boxes loaded in one slot. Thus, various kinds of media can be handled without impairing maintainability.
