A corneal surgery apparatus which comprises a laser irradiation optical system and an eye position change detection unit comprising an illumination optical system and an image pick-up camera picking up an anterior-segment image of a patient's eye and detecting the change in eye position based on an iris pattern in the image, and is arranged such that an irradiation position tracks movement of the eye to ablate a cornea, wherein the apparatus further comprises a contrast adjustment unit extracting a pupil portion and an iris portion based on luminance information of the image, and increasing/decreasing a set value of an illumination light amount and/or a set value of a gain of the camera to increase a contrast of the pupil portion to the iris portion and/or a contrast of the iris pattern within a range that luminance at the iris portion is not saturated.

Corneal surgery apparatus

The present invention intends to provide a laser corneal surgery apparatus in which an optical system for directing and irradiating a laser beam onto a cornea can be protected from water droplets and the like. The laser corneal surgery apparatus for ablating a cornea of a patient's eye by a laser beam comprises an observation optical system for observing the patient's eye, an irradiation optical system for irradiating the laser beam onto the cornea, and a protection plate which is disposed on an irradiation optical path between the cornea and an optical member included in the irradiation optical system and disposed in a position nearest to the cornea, and which is insertable in and removable from the optical path.

Laser corneal surgery apparatus

An apparatus for operating upon a cornea for delivering a laser beam having wavelength in an ultraviolet range emitted from a laser light source to the cornea, and for correcting ametropia by ablating the cornea with the laser beam, the apparatus comprises a correcting-hypermetropia optical system having a first aperture to restrict an ablation area, for correcting hypermetropia by changing a passing area for the laser beam, input device for inputting information necessary for defining a corneal shape after ablation, controlling device for defining an ablation shape based on the information inputted by the input device, and for driving the laser light source and the correcting-hypermetropia optical system, and a second aperture located by decentering for the center of the cornea, for transmitting the laser beam within an area of a near-point portion, whereby correction of presbyopia may be performed so that the cornea has double focal points by driving the laser light source and the correcting-hypermetropia optical system under condition that the second aperture is located at a predetermined position.

Apparatus for operating upon a cornea

In a corneal surgical apparatus for incising a cornea of a patient's eye in a layered form, a suction ring is fixedly provided on a main body. The suction ring has an opening from which the cornea of the patient's eye is projected. An applanating portion is provided, which has a flat side abutting against the cornea of the patient eye projected from the opening of the suction ring. A blade is supported movably along said suction ring in a space defined between the suction ring and the flat side of the applanating portion. A projection is associated with the blade to increase the space as the blade incises the cornea.
