A control system of an industrial robot includes an operation program read out from a storage medium and deciphered and calculated to obtain data so that a robot machine is controlled on the basis of the data. An external memory has function of a conventional internal memory and it is limited to store one program in, for example, an IC card constituting the storage medium and the IC card is inserted into the external memory to supply the operation program. A plurality of operation programs are previously stored in, for example, a floppy disk device constituting a recording medium of the external memory and a desired program is selected by a keyboard to directly supply it to the controller of the robot to operate the robot.

Control system of an industrial robot

A can lid feeder, for use with a can seamer, has a separator for can lids which projects into a drop hole provided in a cylindrical body at the bottom of a hopper and which separates dropped and stacked can lids one by one from the bottom of the stack. A rotary shaft of the separator extends in a gear box which is supported in the feeder in a freely swingable manner. The gear box is swingable so that the separator can move in the radial direction with respect to the cylindrical body having the drop hole. After a side surface of the swinging gear box has been brought into contact with the outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical body, the gear box is fixed in position by a clamp lever. According to another apsect of the present invention, the separator for can lids is of a rotary type and is provided with the independent screw grooves in its circumferential surface for separating can lids one by one from the bottom of a stack of can lids which have dropped through a drop at the bottom of a hopper and have become stacked. According to still another aspect of the invention a can lid feeding mechanism for successively feeding can lids to cans filed with liquid is disposed midway of a can feeding conveyor between a filler and a can seamer.

Can lid feeder

A can seamer for seaming a lid to a can drum filled with liquid and having the lid placed on a top opening includes seaming rolls and a seaming chuck. The time necessary for replacement of the seaming rolls and the seaming chuck, when changing the diameter of the cans to be seamed, is greatly shortened. A seaming lever having the seaming rolls mounted thereon and the seaming chuck are respectively connected to the bottom end portions of a seaming roll shaft and a rotary cylinder via splines or serrations. The seaming lever and the seaming chuck are integrally connected by a connecting bracket.
