A manufacturing method for an electric wire with a terminal includes: a first resin supplying step for discharging a curable resin material for internal use through a discharge port at a nozzle distal end after being caulked and crimped, and infiltrating the curable resin material for internal use into gaps between elemental wires while pressing out air in the gaps; a second resin supplying step for discharging a curable resin material for external use through the discharge port at the nozzle distal end, and covering the core wire exposed part in which the curable resin material for internal use is filled into the gaps, a core wire connection body, and a coating connection body with the curable resin material for external use from the outside; and a resin curing step for curing the curable resin material for internal use and external use by operating a resin curing device.

A terminal metal part is provided which can suppress changes in characteristic regarding the connection while suppressing galvanic corrosion. In the terminal metal part, a tin plating layer is formed thicker in a crimping region with a conductor crimping lug than in an electric connecting region contactable with a mating terminal. With this, it is difficult for the conductor section and an alloy section as a base under the tin plating layer in the crimping region to come into a direct contact with each other, which can suppress galvanic corrosions. Furthermore, forming the tin plating layer can have less influence in the electric connecting region and changes in characteristics regarding the connection to the mating terminal can be suppressed.

A manufacturing method of a crimping terminal includes a terminal supply step of supplying the crimping terminal to a crimping position with a wire by a terminal supply device, the crimping terminal including a terminal connection portion, a wire connection portion to be crimped onto the wire, and a joint portion linking side walls of the terminal connection portion and the wire connection portion, a support step of supporting a bottom portion of the crimping terminal supplied to the crimping position by a first mold, a crimp step of deforming the wire connection portion while relatively moving toward the first mold, and crimping the wire connection portion onto the wire by a second mold, and a regulation step of regulating a width of the joint portion so as not to be wider than a width of the terminal connection portion, by sandwiching the joint portion from both sides in a width direction when the second mold crimps the wire connection portion by a regulation portion.

Manufacturing method of crimping terminal

A method of manufacturing a crimping terminal includes a punching process of punching out a crimping terminal from a flat-plate-shaped metal base material, an attaching process of attaching a sheet-like water stop member to a wire connection portion being a portion in the crimping terminal that is to be crimped onto a wire, and a bending process of bending the wire connection portion to which the water stop member is attached. The wire connection portion may integrally cover a core wire and a covering of the wire by being crimped onto the wire.

Method of manufacturing crimping terminal

A terminal attached wire includes a wire and a terminal fitting. The wire includes a core wire. The core wire is made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy and is covered with a coating. The core wire is exposed at and end portion of the wire. The terminal fitting is made of copper or a copper alloy and is connected to the end portion of the wire. A sacrifice layer having a higher ionization tendency than aluminum is provided on a portion of the terminal fitting except for an electrical connection portion with another member.

A crimp terminal includes: a terminal fitting having a terminal connecting portion electrically connected to a counterpart terminal and an electric wire connecting portion electrically connected by crimping to an end portion of an electric wire placed on an inner wall surface thereof; and a second water stop portion that is pasted on the inner wall surface of the electric wire connecting portion before crimping and that, after crimping, forms a second water stop area capable of suppressing water entry between the electric wire connecting portion and the core wire from the terminal connecting portion side with respect to the distal end position of the core wire at the distal end of the electric wire. The electric wire connecting portion has a core wire crimp portion crimped on the core wire at the distal end of the electric wire.

Crimp terminal

A terminal fitting includes a terminal connecting portion and an electric wire connecting portion. A water stop member is affixed to an inner wall surface of the electric wire connecting portion before crimping process and suppresses entering of water between the electric wire connecting portion and a core wire of the electric wire after the crimping. The electric wire connecting portion is formed into a U-shape by raising the first barrel piece and the second barrel piece from both ends of the bottom. The distal end of the first barrel piece is bent toward the second barrel piece, to form a gap between a slide contact surface on a descending second die and the distal end of the first barrel piece.

A crimp terminal includes a terminal connecting portion and an electric wire connecting portion. The electric wire connecting portion is sectioned into a bottom portion, a first barrel piece, and a second barrel piece, and is sectioned into a core wire crimp portion, a sheath crimp portion, and a coupling crimp portion. A water stop member affixed to the inner wall face of the electric wire connecting portion before crimping processing forms a first water stop area, that suppresses the entry of water, from the gap between the outer wall face of the first barrel piece and the inner wall face of the second barrel piece, a second water stop area from the terminal connecting portion side of the distal end position of a core wire, and a third water stop area from the gap between the inner wall face of the sheath crimp portion and a sheath.
