An measuring instrument for a physiological heat quantity emitted from a human body includes a heat flux sensor, and a calculator. The heat flux sensor includes a sensor main body portion and a moisture absorbing member. The sensor main body portion has multiple through holes penetrating through the sensor main body portion from a first surface to a second surface. The sensor main body portion is disposed on a human body such that the first surface is adjacent to the human body when in use, and outputs a sensor signal according to a heat flux passing through the sensor main body portion from the first surface toward the second surface. The moisture absorbing member is stacked on the second surface of the sensor main body portion. The calculator calculates the physiological heat quantity based on the sensor signal.

Measuring instrument for physiological heat quantity

In a radiant heat sensor, first and second thermoelectric members are alternately arrayed one by one in a direction along a first surface of a plate-shaped member so as to be separated from each other, and each of the first and second thermoelectric members configure a portion of the first surface. First conductor patterns extend the first surface, disposed on the first surface so as to span a single first thermoelectric member and a single second thermoelectric member that are adjacent to each other, and configure hot contact portions between the first and second thermoelectric members. Second conductor patterns extend along the first surface, disposed on the first surface so as to span a single first thermoelectric member and a single second thermoelectric member that are adjacent to each other, and configure cold contact portions between the first and second thermoelectric members.

Radiant heat sensor

A thermal flow-rate sensor includes: a first temperature sensor that detects the temperature at a specified location of the outer-wall surface of a pipe; a heat-transfer element that is arranged on the outer-wall surface of the pipe in a state separated from the first temperature sensor, and that exchanges heat with a measurement medium by heating or cooling the outer-wall surface of the pipe; a second temperature sensor that detects the temperature of a portion of the outer-wall surface of the pipe that is heated or cooled by the heat-transfer element; and a control unit that performs specified processing. A heat-flux sensor is arranged between the heat-transfer element and the outer-wall surface of the pipe and directly detects heat flux between the heat-transfer element and the pipe; and the control unit detects the flow rate of the measurement medium based on the temperature that is directly detected by the first temperature sensor, the temperature that is detected by the second temperature sensor, and the heat flux that is detected by the heat-flux sensor.

Thermal flow-rate sensor

In a multi-gap rotating electric machine, a side stator coil is received in a side space formed in a housing to connect radially inner and radially outer stator coils across a rotor. A cooling oil flow adjustment member is provided to adjust flow of cooling oil in the side space. The adjustment member has cooling oil guide channels formed on an uneven surface thereof facing the side stator coil. When viewed along a central axis of a rotating shaft: on an upper apart of the uneven surface which is located above the central axis, the cooling oil guide channels spread from a reference line to both sides of the reference line while extending downward; and on a lower part of the uneven surface which is located below the central axis, the cooling oil guide channels converge on the reference line from both sides of the reference line while extending downward.

A vehicle-mounted antenna device includes a base, a board, a circuit section, and a housing. The base is mountable on a roof of a vehicle. The board has an antenna element section and is stood on the base. The circuit section is implemented on the board and serves as at least part of a wireless communication circuit electrically connected to the antenna element section. The housing is made of a resin material and forms a projection of an outer shape of the vehicle. The board and the circuit section are located in space formed by the base and the housing. A heat transfer path having a thermal conductivity higher than that of air is formed between the circuit section and the housing without passing the base.

Vehicle-mounted antenna device

A cooling fin structure used in a cooler for an electric device includes a plurality of pin fins () arranged in a zigzag form in a coolant passage (). Each of the pin fins () has a circular portion () having a circular cross-section, and irregularly shaped portions () provided contiguously on the upstream and downstream sides of the circular portion () as viewed in a direction of flow of the coolant. The irregularly shaped portions () have an outer peripheral surface () that is formed along a circumference () having a center at a center point () of the circular portion () of a pin fin (B) that is located adjacent to the pin fin (A) having the irregularly shaped portions (), in an oblique direction relative to the direction of flow of the coolant.

Cooling fin structure

A rotating electric machine includes a rotor, a stator, a cooling device and a pair of cooling liquid collection tanks. The stator includes an annular stator core and a stator coil. The stator core is disposed radially outside the rotor so as to surround the rotor. The stator coil is mounted on the stator core so that a pair of coil ends of the stator coil protrude axially outward respectively from opposite axial end faces of the stator core. The cooling device is configured to supply cooling liquid to vertically upper parts of the coil ends of the stator coil. Each of the cooling liquid collection tanks is arranged to surround a vertically lower part of a corresponding one of the coil ends so as to collect and temporarily reserve therein the cooling liquid moved from the upper part to the lower part of the corresponding coil end.

An electric rotating machine includes a rotor, a stator in which a coil is so wound as to have an coil end, and a coolant supply pipe. The coolant supply pipe lies with a length thereof extending substantially parallel to an axis of rotation of the rotor and is disposed above the stator in a direction of gravitational force. The coolant supply pipe has a first and a second coolant outlet through which coolant is to be emitted to the coil end. The first and the second coolant outlets are so oriented as to direct streams of the coolant to a first area and a second area of the coil end which are different in location from each other. This enables the coolant to be emitted to almost the whole of the coil end even when the electric rotating machine is titled in a direction in which the rotor turns.

Electric rotating machine with cooling mechanism

An electric rotating machine is provided which includes a stator in which a coil is so wound as to have an coil end and a coolant channel. The coolant channel has defined therein a flow path through which coolant flows and a flow separator disposed in the flow path and a first and a second coolant outlet. The flow separator works to separate a flow of the coolant into at least a first and a second coolant streams. The first coolant outlet communicates with the first coolant stream, while the second coolant outlet communicates with the second coolant stream. The first and second coolant outlets drain the coolant to different portions of the coil end, thereby cooling almost the whole of the coil end even when the electric rotating machine is tilted undesirably.

A semiconductor element cooling apparatus includes: a first member whose first surface on which a semiconductor element is mounted, and whose second surface has fins that define coolant flow paths, and that extend in a first direction, and that stand from the second surface to a predetermined height, and that are spaced from each other by predetermined intervals; and a second member that defines the coolant flow paths that extend in the first direction. The fins have grooves which extend in a second direction that intersects the first direction, and which have a depth that extends from the distal end side of the fins toward the second surface. The depth of the grooves is smaller than the height of the fins. A protrusion-forming member is disposed in the grooves, and extends across adjacent fins, and forms protrusions in the coolant flow paths defined by the adjacent fins.

Cooling apparatus for semiconductor element

The electric rotating machine includes a rotor relatable around a rotating shaft disposed horizontally, a stator core formed with slots, and a stator coil constituted of in-slot portions each of which is accommodated in a corresponding one of the slots, and turn portions each of which connects corresponding adjacent two of the in-slot portions at a position outside the stator core. The turn portions form a coil end projecting axially outward from an end surface of the stator core at each of both axial end sides of the stator core. The coil end is formed in a cylindrical shape including an axial end surface of a flat shape, and inner and outer peripheral surfaces of a circular shape. The electric rotating machine further includes a coolant supply section to supply coolant to an upper part of the outer peripheral surface of the coil end.

Heat discharging property of the stator coil end is improved effectively in a rotating electric machine. A motor as the rotating electric machine includes a stator and a rotor. The stator includes a stator core and resin mold coil ends provided on both axial ends thereof. Column-shaped projections projecting in the axial direction are provided on axial side surfaces of resin mold coil ends at a plurality of positions. Cooling oil supplied from above the resin mold coil ends effectively cools the resin mold coil ends.

Rotating electric machine and cooling system for the rotating electric machine

A method of manufacturing an electric rotating machine having a stator that includes a stator core having slots formed at an inner periphery thereof, and a stator winding constituted by conductive wires wound on the slots. The stator winding includes in-slot portions accommodated in the slots and turn portions each connecting each adjacent two of the in-slot portions outside the slots. The stator core includes a core member having at least three tooth portions extending in a radial direction of the stator core and a core back portion integrally connecting the tooth portions at a radially end side thereof. The core member is configured such that each of the first tooth portions folded toward the core back portion is capable of unfolding to extend between a corresponding adjacent two of the in-slot portions when the core member is at a predetermined axial position with respect to the stator winding.

A semiconductor device includes: a base member; a solder layer; and a semiconductor chip disposed on the base member through the solder layer. The chip has an in-plane temperature distribution when the chip is operated. The chip has an allowable maximum temperature as a temperature limit of operation. The in-plane temperature distribution of the chip provides a temperature of the chip at each position of a surface of the chip. The temperature margin at each position is obtained by subtracting the temperature of the chip from the allowable maximum temperature. The solder layer has an allowable maximum diameter of a void at each position, the void being disposed in the solder layer. The allowable maximum diameter of the void at each position becomes larger as the temperature margin at the position becomes larger.

A combustion type heater of this invention includes fuel distribution means for distributing a fuel to the whole surface of a wick disposed upstream of the wick in a fuel passage. The fuel distribution means comprises fuel distribution grooves and a fuel dispersion plate having a large number of holes bored therein. The fuel distribution means can quickly supply the fuel to the whole surface of the wick. To shorten the heating time of the wick, the heater of the present invention uses a wick heating glow plug outside an ignition glow plug or a planar heater for heating the wick.
