A first information processing device acquires an instruction signal for instructing an operation of a subjective optometry device, and transmits a drive signal for causing the subjective optometry device to operate as instructed by the acquired instruction signal to the subjective optometry device. When the first information processing device is remote-accessed by a second information processing device, the first information processing device can acquire the instruction signal input to the second information processing device by a user via a network. The first information processing device can further acquire a response input by an examinee who visually recognizes a presented target, and can further generate an instruction signal instructing the operation of the subjective optometry device based on the acquired response.

A subjective optometry system includes a plurality of subjective optometry devices and a database which stores at least any data of objective measurement data and previous glass data in association with each identifier. Each of the subjective optometry devices includes a calibration optical system, an information processor, and a reader which is connected to the information processor, reads an identifier prepared for each examinee, and outputs information about the read identifier to the information processor. The information processor acquires at least one of the objective measurement data and the previous glass data corresponding to the identifier from the database based on the identifier received from the reader, and sets an initial value of the calibration optical system used on an occasion of subjectively measuring optical characteristics of a subject eye based on at least one of the objective measurement data and the previous glass data.

A subjective vision testing system is used for visual function tests for examinees. The subjective vision testing system is provided with an optometric apparatus which selectively sets optical elements in front of both eyes of an examinee, an optotype presenting apparatus for displaying optotypes to the examinee, and a controller. The optotype presenting apparatus, based on a command signal for implementation of a binocular balance test, displays optotypes used for binocular balance tests. The optometric apparatus, based on a command signal for implementation of a binocular balance test, sets a first prism in front of the examinee's right eye and a second prism in front of the examinee's left eye. The second prism has a base direction vertically opposite to the first prism and the same prism power as the first prism.

An optometric apparatus comprises: a pair of right and left lens chamber units, each unit including a test window and optical elements to be selectively disposed in the test window; a convergence unit which converges the right and left lens chamber units; an input unit with which a pupillary distance of an examinee is inputted; a calculation unit which determines a convergence angle of the right and left lens chamber units based on a distance for a near vision examination at which a near vision optotype is presented and the inputted pupillary distance, the convergence angle for the inputted pupillary distance longer than a predetermined reference distance being determined such that an optical axis of the optical element is substantially aligned with a visual axis of an examinee's eye, whereas the convergence angle for the inputted papillary distance shorter than the reference distance being determined such that the right and left lens chamber units are converged without coming into contact with each other; and a control unit which controls driving of the convergence unit based on the determined convergence angle.
