A cable connector having a receptacle connector, the receptacle connector includes a receptacle body which is made of an insulating material and into which a cable is inserted; a plurality of contacts which are provided in the receptacle body; a spacing member which separates the cable inserted into the receptacle body from the contacts by an elastic force of the spacing member to thereby provide an electrically disconnected state; and a biasing member which biases the cable toward the contacts against an elastic force of the spacing member. A movement restricting portion which restricts the movement of the cable toward the contacts so that the cable is brought into conductive contact with the contacts by the biasing force of the biasing member only when the cable is inserted to the predetermined position in the receptacle body.

Connector for cable

A connector includes a plug connector including a plug body, and at least one plug contact held by the plug body; and a receptacle connector including a receptacle body having a plug-in slot, and at least one receptacle contact held by the receptacle body so as to make contact with the plug contact for electric connection when the plug connector is plugged into the plug-in slot. The plug-in slot is formed between an island portion formed on the center of the receptacle body, and opposing wall portions of the receptacle body formed so as to oppose lateral surfaces of the island portion. Four corners at the top of the island portion are formed as slopes which approach the wall portions and extend downward from the top of the island portion, and are connected to the lateral surfaces which extend vertically.

Connector and portable terminal

A connector includes a plug including a plug body made of an insulating material and at least one plug contact supported by the plug body; a receptacle including a receptacle body made of an insulating material and at least one receptacle contact supported by the receptacle body; a contact projecting portion formed on one of the plug contact and the receptacle contact; a contacting portion formed on the other of the plug contact and the receptacle contact; and a first projecting portion and at least one second projecting portion which is formed on the contacting portion, the second projecting portion being formed integral with the first projecting portion to be elongated in an insertion/extraction direction of the plug. A portion of the contact projecting portion is formed as a flat surface having a width greater than a width of the second projecting portion.

Connector, and portable terminal equipment including the connector

A connector includes a connector body made of an electrically insulating material, having a contact support wall whose one end defines a contact mount portion, and a contact made of an electrically conductive material, having a pair of resilient contact elements located on upper and lower sides of the contact support wall, and a resilient support portion which connects the resilient contact elements and which is elastically supported by the contact mount portion. The resilient support portion of the contact is engaged with the contact support wall so that the entire contact can swing about the contact mount portion.

Electrical connector

A memory card is comprised of a synthetic resin frame, a memory board housed in a frame, metal contacts for connecting conductor patterns of a memory board and external pins, a connector body formed from synthetic resin having a number of contact compartments in which the contacts are received, a metal cover plate which covers an opening of the frame in which the memory board and the connector body are housed, and a cut-away portion which is formed on at least one of the contact compartments of the connector body and which is opposed to the cover plate. A method for manufacturing contacts having a ground terminal for the memory card includes forming a pattern contact piece which comes into contact with one of the conductor patterns of the memory board, a pin contact piece which comes into contact with the external pin inserted from the outside, and a ground contact piece which projects from the cut-away portion to come into contact with the metal cover plate, on each of the contacts, and bending the ground contact piece when inserted in the corresponding contact compartment so as to project outward from the cut-away portion, and inserting the contacts in the corresponding contact compartments.
