An object of the present invention is to provide a power converter in which the open-phase can be detected in a broader frequency region even if a predetermined relation is kept between the output voltage and the frequency. In order to achieve the above objects, a power converter including: an inverter unit having phase unit inverters provided with a plurality of multiple connected single-phase cell inverters for every phase; an inverter controller for controlling the inverter unit so that a predetermined relation is kept between an output voltage and a frequency; and a plurality of transformers for detecting output voltages of the plurality of phase unit inverters, in which the inverter controller is provided with a fault detection unit for detecting whether a phase-to-phase voltage deviation calculated by the output voltage is within range of an allowable voltage deviation calculated as a function of the frequency is provided.

Power converter and motor driving system

A recirculation pump motor is supplied with a power from a unit auxiliary middle voltage bus through a power supply system including a first circuit breaker, a voltage source inverter, and a second circuit breaker electrically connected in series to provide a no-load operation by use of the voltage source inverter. The second circuit breaker may be multiplexed with more than one breaker electrically connected in series. An existing nuclear plant using a induction motor driving a hydraulic coupling mechanically coupled to a synchronous generator for driving the recirculation pump, such as an MfG set, may be subjected to a method of replacing the induction motor, the hydraulic coupling, and the synchronous generator with the voltage source inverter and a circuit breaker through electrically disconnection and removal.

Nuclear power plant, method of replacement in the same and method of operating the same

An induction motor drive includes a plurality of inverters, a changeover switch which changes over outputs of the plurality of inverters to be supplied to one induction motor and a changeover controller which controls the changeover switch on the basis of a failure detection signal of one inverter to change over from the one inverter to another inverter to start the other inverter so that the induction motor is driven. The changeover controller includes a frequency/phase detector which always detects a frequency and a phase of a terminal voltage of the induction motor and a starting frequency/phase setting device which controls a frequency and a phase at starting of the other inverter in accordance with detected values of the frequency/phase detector when the failure signal is inputted.

Apparatus and method for driving an induction motor

A motor driving apparatus including inverter apparatuses, inverter control circuits, and a plurality of inverter control apparatuses for performing variable-speed driving of a single motor, breakers each of which being provided between each inverter apparatus and the motor, the inverter control circuits being connected in parallel to each other. Here, a motor rotation frequency/phase detection circuit of each inverter control circuit is set up on a closer side to the motor than the breakers, then frequency and phase of a terminal voltage at the motor are detected and inputted into failure-time input frequency/phase setting circuits regardless of close/open of each breaker. This feature allows computation by the failure-time input frequency/phase setting circuits to be carried out at all times, thereby making it possible to shorten a computation time needed for computing inverter-apparatus start frequency/phase.

Motor driving system and motor driving method

An adjustable speed drive system for a primary loop recirculation pump and method of control in which a first breaker is connected to an auxiliary power supply system, an inverter is connected to the first breaker, a second breaker is connected to an output of the inverter, a gate driver supplies a gate pulse to the inverter, and an inverter control portion drives the gate driver. The adjustable speed drive system is combined with a backup adjustable speed drive system. When a malfunction in a main adjustable speed drive circuit portion including the inverter and the gate driver in the adjustable speed drive system used in a normal operation is detected, the main adjustable speed drive circuit portion is switched to the backup adjustable speed drive system, and an operation of a recirculation pump motor for driving a recirculation pump that controls a flow of a reactor core is continued.

Adjustable speed drive system for primary loop recirculation pump

An adjustable speed drive system for a primary loop recirculation pump capable of keeping a PLR pump operating even if a single malfunction occurred in a main adjustable speed drive circuit portion. The drive system for the primary loop recirculation pump has a backup main adjustable speed drive circuit portion, and a breaker for switching between an incoming destination and an outputting destination of the backup main adjustable speed drive circuit portion. A control signal of an inverter control portion is switched to control an inverter included in the backup main adjustable speed drive circuit portion, and when a malfunction occurred in the adjustable speed drive main circuit, by switching to the backup main adjustable speed drive circuit portion, the primary loop recirculation pump of a nuclear reactor is continuously controlled and operated.
