A light distribution control device, if a first upper limit number N≥the number of near-distance targets T, controls a lamp to irradiate the near-distance targets with light having illuminance according to attributes of the near-distance targets; if a remaining number M≥the number of long-distance targets T, controls the lamp to irradiate the long-distance targets with light having illuminance according to attributes of the long-distance targets; if N<T, controls the lamp to form a light distribution pattern that does not depend on the near-distance targets and the long-distance targets; and, if M<T, controls the lamp to form a light distribution pattern that does not depend on the long-distance targets.

Light distribution control device, vehicle light system, and light distribution control method

A vehicle lamp apparatus has an adaptive driving beam lamp unit, and a controller. The adaptive driving beam lamp unit contains a plurality of individually controllable pixels, and is structured to emit a lamp beam with a light distribution that corresponds to states of the pixels. The controller is structured to control the light distribution of the adaptive driving beam lamp unit. The vehicle lamp apparatus can form an aiming light distribution in an aiming mode. The aiming light distribution contains a cross pattern whose cross point falls on a position that corresponds to an elbow point of a low-beam light distribution.

Vehicular lamp

A vehicular headlamp that provides near-ultraviolet illumination of desired areas but which assures that sufficient brightness can be obtained in areas illuminated with visible light without having to combine the lamp with another type of headlamp. The headlamp includes a light-emitting unit accommodated in a lamp housing including a substantially parabolic reflector, a discharge bulb mounted inside the reflector to generate both visible light components and ultraviolet rays, and a light-emitting lens disposed in front of the reflector to irradiate the light reflected from the reflector in the forward direction. In addition, a bandpass filter adapted to absorptively remove visible light components and permit at least near-ultraviolet rays to pass therethrough is disposed in a light path other than the light path for the low-beam light conducted to the light emitting lens from the reflector so that a low-beam illuminating area is illuminated by both visible light components and near-ultraviolet rays to maintain sufficient brightness in the foregoing region. On the other hand, an illuminating area located above a clear cut line is illuminated mainly by the near-ultraviolet rays.

Vehicular headlamp providing near-ultraviolet radiation

A beam-forming shade for use in a vehicular headlamp comprising a cylindrical shade body disposed horizontally in surrounding relation to a bulb of the vehicular headlamp so as to interrupt some parts of light emitted from a light source and a connecting member extending downwardly from the shade body and having a single mounting hole to be attached to a reflector by a single screw. The shade of the present invention is obtained by bending a single thin metal plate which is previously cut to form a predetermined contour, which plate having a continuous developed form of the cylindrical shade body and the connecting member, thereby obtaining an integral shade.
