An engine cutter which is simple in structure and low in manufacturing cost. This engine cutter comprises a disk cutter, an air-cooled internal combustion engine for rotating the disk cutter, a safety cover partially encasing the disk cutter, and a dust-trapping portion which is mounted on the safety cover for trapping and discharging dust to be generated from a cutting work by the disk cutter; and is characterized in that only single fan to be driven by the engine is provided not only for generating an air flow for sucking and discharging the dust that has been trapped in the dust-trapping portion but also for generating a cooling air flow for cooling the internal combustion engine.

Engine cutter

A portable power working machine includes a small air-cooled internal combustion engine, a cooling fan, and a carburetor chamber housing therein an air cleaner. A dust-separating air duct is interposed between a region close to the cooling fan and the carburetor chamber housing, the dust-separating air duct being configured to separate dust included in an intake air from air by taking advantage of an air flow, thereby allowing clean air separated from the dust to be fed to the carburetor chamber housing and allowing the dust separated from the intake air to be sucked by the cooling fan.

Portable power working machine

A dust collector-equipped power cutter includes a prime mover, a cutter, a dust-sucking fan, and a belt-driven power transmission mechanism for transmitting rotation from the prime mover to the cutting disk and to the dust-sucking fan. The belt-driven power transmission mechanism is constructed such that the rotation of the prime mover is transmitted through a single belt to a cutter-driving pulley for the cutting disk and to a fan-driving pulley for the dust-sucking fan.

A power cutter which comprises a main body provided with a motor, a work-cutting portion including a circular cutting blade to be rotated by the motor and a safety cover covering both sides of an edge portion of the cutting blade so as to form a dust-discharging passageway, a fan attached to the safety cover for sucking and removing dust generated during cutting operations through the dust-discharging passage, a barrier wall attached to the safety cover so as to intercept the dust-discharging passageway, and a main dust-sucking port and a supplementary dust-sucking port disposed respectively in front of and behind the barrier wall as viewed in the rotational direction of the cutting blade.

Power cutter

A dust collector-equipped power cutter, which is easy to handle in operation and convenient for storage and transportation thereof and is capable of preventing dusty air from flowing back to the cutter portion when a cutting operation is interrupted, includes a main body, a cutter, a dust-sucking fan, and a dust hose assembly. The dust hose assembly includes a first dust hose section and a second dust hose section and a hose connector joining the first hose section and the second hose section. Each of the hose sections has a spiral rib on an outer peripheral surface, and the hose connector has a spiral groove on an inner wall of each end portion, the dust hose section and the hose connector being adapted to be interconnected with each other through a threaded engagement between the spiral rib and the spiral groove. The hose connector is provided with a check valve to prevent back flow when a cutting operation is interrupted or terminated.

A hand lever apparatus (throttle lever) (10) is provided which has an automatic restoring function (automatic idle rotation opening position restoring function) to cope with an accident and which can perform normal operation lightly and swiftly. The hand lever apparatus (10) has a rotationally operable operating lever (30) and a toggle mechanism (T). The operating lever (30) is operated to actuate, through the toggle mechanism (T), a cable (20) connected to a driven member (CV) so as to pull the cable (20).

A hand lever apparatus (throttle lever) is provided which has the automatic restoring function (automatic idle rotation opening position restoring function) to cope with accidents and steadily hold a desired operation position (intermediate opening position of a throttle valve). The hand lever apparatus has a rotationally operable main lever (30) and a sub-lever (40) rotationally operated to pull a cable (10a) connected to a driven member (CV). The main lever (30) has a brake plate (34). By pressing the brake plate (34) against an operating portion (42) of the sub-lever (40), rotation of the sub-lever (40) is regulated to hold the sub-lever (40) in a position.

A hand lever device is adapted so that a throttle valve as a driven member can be adjusted appropriately in its degree of opening via a cable and kept at a desired degree of opening and yet immediately returned to the minimum degree of opening. The throttle valve can be brought to the degree of opening at which it had stood before it was returned to the minimum opening degree without the necessity of readjustment. The hand lever device comprises a main lever (30) and a sub-lever (60) which ice pivotally operated, wherein the sub-lever (60) is adapted to draw a cable (20) connected to a driven member (CV) via a pulley (50), and wherein the pulley (50) is moved by the main lever (30).

A hand lever device is disclosed which is adapted so that a throttle valve as a driven member can be adjusted appropriately in its degree of opening via a cable and kept at a desired degree of opening and yet immediately returned to the minimum degree of opening to ensure high safety. Thus, fatigue of an operator's fingers can be diminished. Also, the throttle valve is enabled to be brought to the degree of opening at which it had stood before it was returned to the minimum degree of opening without the necessity of readjustment. The hand lever device comprises an eccentric cam shaft (40) including a supporting shaft portion (42) and a pivot pin portion (41, 43) having pivotal axis (0b) eccentric to axis (0a) of the supporting shaft portion (42), a main lever (30) pivotally fitted on the supporting shaft portion (42), and a sub-lever (50) fixed to the pivot pin portion (41). The main lever (30) and sub-lever (50) are pivotally operated to draw a cable (20) connected to a driven member (CV).

A hand lever device is disclosed for adjusting the degree of openness of a throttle valve via a cable and kept at a desired opening degree and yet immediately returned to a minimum degree of opening to ensure high safety, thereby diminishing fatigue of fingers, and ensuring a desired level of operation. The hand lever device comprises a main lever (3) and a sub-lever (50) is attached to a wind-up tractive member (60) which draws a cable (20) connected to a driven member (CV) in such a manner that one end portion of the cable (20) is wound up thereon, and a torsion coil spring (40) is used as a brake operated by the main lever (30) for braking the wind-up tractive member (60) in order to hold the sub-lever (50) immobilized at any pivotally operated position.

The hand lever device comprises a main lever (3) and a sub-lever (50) is attached to a wind-up tractive member (60) which draws a cable (20) connected to a throttle valve (CV) in such a manner that one end portion of the cable (20) is wound up thereon, and a torsion coil spring (42) is used as a brake operated by the main lever (30) for braking the wind-up tractive member (60) in order to hold the sub-lever (50) immobilized at any pivotally operated position.

An engine-driven blower unit has a casing, an impeller provided inside the casing, and an engine. The casing has a first opening on its wall close to the cooling fan of the engine so that a portion of the air inside the casing is let out through the first opening toward the engine. A second opening is formed so that a portion of the air around the engine is lead to the inside of the casing, to the downstream of the first opening. Thereby, engine-cooling effect is improved, and operational noise is reduced.

Engine-driven blower unit

A backpack power blower apparatus including a frame carrying an engine and a blower. The frame is provided with a sound insulating planar member for reducing noises produced by the engine and the blower, the sound insulating planar member including opposite side portions extending rearwardly from a front portion of the frame and a rear portion extending between the opposite side portions at rear end portions thereof whereby the sound insulating planar member surrounds a machine body, including the engine and the blower, at least at opposite sides and a rear side of the machine body.
