A reference core position calculation devicethat calculates a reference core position of an elevator shaft in which an elevator is to be installed includes a measurement unitand a calculation unit. The measurement unitmeasures a dimension of each portion of the elevator shaft. The calculation unitcalculates portion dimension values of the elevator shaft based on the reference core position and the dimension of each portion measured by the measurement unit. When the reference core position is a first reference core position, the calculation unitdetermines whether portion dimension values of the elevator shaft calculated based on the first reference core position satisfy a predetermined specification.

Reference core position calculation device for elevator and reference core position calculation method

The present invention provides an intra-hoistway measurement system automatically measuring dimensions within an elevator hoistway prior to elevator installation to reduce labor of workers. An intra-hoistway measurement system according to the present invention includes: a reference laser device that is mounted to a structure on a ceiling or in an upper portion of the hoistway for an elevator and emits a laser beam toward a lowermost part; a mobile measuring device that has a plane measuring device to measure horizontal dimensions within the hoistway; and a moving device that is mounted to the structure on the ceiling or in the upper portion of the hoistway and moves the mobile measuring device up and down. The mobile measuring device has a reference laser detection device that detects the laser beam emitted from the reference laser device, and an attitude detection device that detects its own attitude.

An optical information recording/reproducing apparatus for recording information on a recording medium and/or reproducing information from the recording medium, includes: a laser light source for performing recording and/or reproducing information; a shielding part, using a liquid crystal, that can switch between transmission and interception of laser light emitted from the laser light source; a driving circuit for driving the switching between transmission and interception of the shielding part; a moving part for relatively moving the shielding part and the laser light; and a controlling circuit for controlling the moving part. The moving part relatively moves the shielding part and the laser light so as to switch a region to which the laser light is applied from a first region of the shielding part to a second region thereof different from the first region, in order to prevent the liquid crystal from deteriorating.

The portable telephone of the invention comprises two housings having a display screen on one of the housings, a first connection section that connects the two housings such that the housings can be opened and closed in a first direction, and a second connection section that connects the two housings such that the housings can move from an overlapped state in a second direction that is different than the first direction such that step is formed on the end sections of the housings. When the portable telephone is placed on a flat surface such as a desk, the portable telephones stably stands on its own by way of the step with the display screen facing upward at an angle. Therefore, the angle between the display screen and the line of sight of the user becomes nearly perpendicular, so the display screen is easy for the user to see.
