An optical pickup apparatus comprises a laser beam source to generate laser beam, and a laser driving circuit to drive the laser beam source. The laser driving circuit is connected to a flexible substrate and arranged in a groove or hole provided in the vicinity of that portion of an optical pickup housing, to which the laser beam source is fixed. The laser driving circuit is connected through a heat conduction member to an upper cover among upper and lower covers, the upper cover being close to the laser driving circuit. Thereby, heat generated from the laser driving circuit is conducted through the heat conduction member to the upper cover to be transferred outside the optical pickup apparatus while being scattered in an inplane direction of the upper cover.

Optical pickup apparatus

An optical pickup device comprises a semiconductor laser that causes outgoing of laser beam used for reproduction and recording of information on an optical disk, and an objective lens that conducts the laser beam outgoing from the semiconductor laser to the optical disk. The objective lens is driven by a yoke, a focusing coil, a tracking coil, etc. These elements are accommodated in a pickup housing. First and second bearing portions supporting the pickup housing to make the same movable are attached to the pickup housing and arranged on both sides with the objective lens therebetween. The yoke is thermally connected to the first bearing portion positioned on an opposite side of the yoke to the semiconductor laser.

Optical pickup device having heat radiation means and optical disk apparatus using the same

A disk case in which the downsizing of a disk is enabled, maintaining the ease of handling in the same manner as the current 8-cm disk cartridge, and that can be mounted on the current 12-cm drive by using a simplified adapter is provided. The shape of the disk case that involves an 8-cm disk is not a square but almost a circle. Further, the opening width of the disk case is 39 mm or more. An arm for ejecting the disk is arranged at the disk case opening side.

Disk cartridge

A disk is moved between disk cartridges without being in touch with the disk. Therefore, movement of the disk between the disk cartridges is carried out via a disk holder. Further, when the disk is moved between the disk cartridges, disk information of the cartridge is also moved simultaneously. Accordingly, the disk information held by the disk cartridge is provided at a disk holder portion and the disk information can be read by other disk device. Further, the disk holder is provided with a region representing information of the disk. When it is made to be a label region, in moving the disk between the disk cartridges, also the disk information held by the disk holder can simultaneously be moved. Further, even when the disk cartridge incorporates the disk, the content of the disk can easily be recognized via the disk holder. Further, a user can arbitrarily write or erase content of the disk to or from the label region, the disk is recognized easily and easiness of use is considerably promoted.

Disk cartridge with a holder having disk information on it

A disk cartridge incorporating a disk-shaped recording medium and having an opening portion for enabling a recording and/or reproducing operation by a recording and/or reproducing device includes a disk cartridge main body and a disk holder which is detachably mountable to the disk cartridge main body. The disk holder is mountable to the disk cartridge main body along with the disk-shaped recording medium, the disk holder is constituted by a structure which is detachable to outside of the disk cartridge main body along with the disk-shaped recording medium, and the disk holder includes a pair of resilient and deformable disk holding members for holding an outer periphery of the disk-shaped recording medium.

A disk cartridge main body configured to fit into a disk holder of a disk cartridge having another disk cartridge main body for incorporating a disk-shaped recording medium. The another disk cartridge main body has an opening portion for enabling a recording and/or reproducing operation by a recording and/or reproducing device. The disk holder is detachably mountable to the another disk cartridge main body. The opening portion is provided in the another disk cartridge main body and the opening portion is closed by a shutter arranged at the another disk cartridge main body such that the disk-shaped recording medium is shielded from outside by the shutter when the disk cartridge is outside of the recording and/or reproducing device.

A disk cartridge incorporating a disk-shaped recording medium and having an opening portion for enabling recording and/or reproduction by a recording and/or reproducing device includes a disk cartridge main body, and a disk holder which is detachably mountable to the disk cartridge main body. The opening portion of the disk cartridge is provided in the disk cartridge main body and is closed by a shutter arranged at the disk cartridge main body. The disk holder includes a disk holding member holding the recording medium so that when the disk holder is mounted to the disk cartridge main body, the disk holding member releases holding of the recording medium. When the disk holder is detached from the disk cartridge main body, the disk holding member holds the disk-shaped recording medium and is detached from the disk cartridge main body along with the disk-shaped recording medium.

For providing a recording disc, on which information can be renewed by signals, such as electromagnetic waves, and further with which unnecessary vibration due to an eccentricity in center of gravity of the disc can be reduced when the disc is rotated at high rotation velocity, wherein there are positioned an antenna portion, which enables to receive information and/or electric power on the disc, and a memory chip(s) for transmitting the information received to the disc and for renewing that information. Further, for reducing the eccentricity in center of gravity of the disc, a counter balance and/or a label portion and/or the antenna portion and/or an other memory chip(s) and/or a battery are positioned so that they are in balance to the memory chip(s) on the disc.
