A valve structure includes a central valve plate having a valve hole, and a flexible valve element having a root portion lying on the central valve plate and a bendable portion to open and close the valve hole. A retainer element has a retaining surface to restrict deformation of the valve element when it is bent toward the retainer element to open the valve hole. The profile is expressed in a two-dimensional coordinate system (x, y), and the freely bent shape is represented by coordinates (x, f(x)) obtained by pushing the valve element at an abscissa position corresponding to the center of the valve element. The retaining surface has a profile containing a coordinate (x&prime;, f(x&prime;)&minus;K) so that the profile is displaced toward the central valve plate with respect to a freely bent shape of the valve element.

The retainers of a reciprocating compressor are kept from deforming by the pressure of discharged refrigerant when there is a overload due to liquid compression and so forth, by linking inclined pieces with a gentle slope on the retainers serving as members for restricting the opening angle of the reed valve type discharge valves, with a linking member or by making the width dimension of the base portion of the inclined pieces with a gentle slope greater than the width dimension of the tip portion thereof, thereby improving the rigidity of the retainers, and consequently improving the reliability of the reciprocating compressor.

Reciprocating compressor

A swash plate type compressor includes an improved thrust bearing for axially supporting the swash plate. The bearing is of a composite type, and includes at least two elastically deformable slide bearing elements. The swash plate and the cylinder block each have seat portions, which are of different diameters. The two bearing elements are compressed between the respective seat portions into an elastically deformed conically-shaped state, with the amount of conical deformation depending upon the amount of axial compression that is applied to the bearing by tightening the assembly bolts of the compressor. In operation, one of the conically shaped slide bearing elements is pressed outwardly against the other by centrifugal force as the compressor shaft rotates. During start up and low speed operation of the compressor, this centrifugal force will have minimal effect, and the bearing elements will rotate with respect to each other, keeping internal frictional resistance low. At higher speeds, however, the centrifugal force will both bind the bearing elements to move together as a unit and will impart additional supportive force to the swash plate that will tend to minimize vibration and noise during operation.

Swash plate type compressor

A cam plate type compressor includes a cam plate having a boss and the cam plate is located in a crank chamber formed within a pair of casings. The cam plate is rotatable with a drive shaft. The compressor also has two-part bearing structure for supporting the cam plate. The bearing has a buffer structure for absorbing an axial load applied to the cam plate. One of the bearing parts is constituted by a rolling bearing and the other is constituted by a flat sliding bearing.

A compressor with a compressing device compresses gas containing oil mist. The compressing device includes a compression chamber. A receiving chamber receives the compressed gas discharged from the compression chamber. The receiving chamber has a duct for discharging the gas from the receiving chamber. A hollow cylinder communicates with the duct and projects inside the receiving chamber. The gas directed toward the duct flows around the cylinder to generate centrifugal force for separating the oil mist from the gas.

Lubricant oil separating mechanism for a compressor

A swash plate type compressor includes an oil separating chamber connected to the discharge chamber for separating lubricant oil from refrigerant gas. A first oil reserve chamber receives the separated oil. A second oil reserve chamber is connected to the first oil reserve chamber. An oil supply port is formed in the valve plate for connecting the second oil reserve chamber to a drive shaft support hole. A restricting member is provided integrally with the discharge valve for regulating the amount of the lubricant oil that passes through the oil supply port.

Drive shaft lubrication arrangement for a swash plate type refrigerant

Disclosed is a compressor designed to facilitate the assembling of the thrust bearing and reduce noise. A swash plate which moves in responsive to the drive shaft is arranged in a crank chamber defined in a pair of cylinder blocks. Ring washers are held between both bosses of the swash plate and seats formed on both cylinder blocks. Wedge-like clearances are formed between the washers and the seats of the cylinder blocks for the effective introduction of the refrigerant gas by the yawing of the swash plate which occurs as the compressor runs. At this time, the washers, together with the lubrication oil mist contained in the refrigerant gas, constitute the dynamic bearing to support the swash plate and permit the relative movement of the swash plate to the cylinder blocks.

Cam plate type compressor

A reciprocating piston compressor adapted to receive a low pressure gas from an external circuit, and to supply a high pressure gas to the external circuit includes a cylinder block with front and rear ends. The cylinder block includes a central bore extending along the longitudinal axis, and a plurality of axially extending cylinder bores. The central bore has an open end at the front end of the cylinder block and an opposite closed end. Pistons are slidably provided within the cylinder bores for reciprocation. A drive shaft is inserted into the central bore for driving the motion of the reciprocating pistons. A pair of radial bearings, which are provided in the central bore, supports the axially extending drive shaft. An oil separator is provided between the compressor and the external circuit to remove lubricating oil contained in the high pressure gas. An oil reservoir is provided for accumulating the lubricating oil removed from the high pressure gas by the oil separator, the cylinder block including at least a portion of the oil reservoir adjacent to the blind end of the central bore.

Reciprocating piston type compressor with an oil separator for removing

A compressor includes a drive shaft rotatably supported on cylinder block. A swash plate rotates in accordance with rotation of the drive shaft. A plurality of pistons reciprocate in the associated bores in the cylinder block in accordance with the rotation of the swash plate. First an second thrust bearings are provided in the cylinder block at both sides of the swash plate, and receive the axial loads applied to the swash plate and drive shaft according to the reciprocation of the pistons. The first thrust bearing has the first seat portion clamped at both sides by the swash plate and cylinder block and the second seat portion located apart from one of the swash plate and cylinder block.

A reciprocating compressor includes reciprocating pistons moved by a swash plate. A housing member is attached to one end of the cylinder block via a valve plate. A discharge chamber is formed in the peripheral region in the housing member, and a suction chamber and an oil chamber are formed in the central region in the housing member in an axially juxtaposed relationship. Alternatively, a suction chamber is formed in the peripheral region, and a discharge chamber and an oil chamber are formed in the central region. The oil chamber is connected to the suction chamber by an oil return passage. A centrifugal type or collision type oil separating device is arranged in the discharge chamber above the oil chamber in the housing member.
