Here is disclosed a method for manufacturing individual disposable underpants provided around a waist line and a pair of leg-holes with elastic members from two continuous webs and a plurality of continuous elastic members, characterized by that the webs are applied on predetermined locations with adhesive so that the elastic members can be reliably held on the webs although the elastic members must be forcibly curved when the elastic members are bonded between the webs with use of adhesive.

Here are disclosed disposable garments such as diaper and training pants and a method for attachment of threadlike continuous elastic members (each comprising a plurality of threadlike elastic elements) around leg-holes thereof so that the elastic members are progressively widened from their longitudinally opposite ends toward their longitudinally middle portions, respectively. The threadlike continuous elastic members 4A, 4B thus attached to the article around th respective leg-holes each comprises rubber threads 4a, 4b, 4c. The traverse, arrangement support these rubber threads in parallel to one another and forcibly guide them in sine curves with respect to the continuous web 7 so that the portions 4A.sub.1, 4B.sub.1 of the elastic members 4A, 4B to be bonded to the continuous web are bonded thereto. Then, the non-bonded portions 4A2, 4B2 of the elastic members are cut together with the web 7 along boundaries of the individual articles and thereupon contract under their own stretch stresses.

Here are disclosed disposable garments such as diaper and training pants and a method for attachment of threadlike continuous elastic members (each comprising a plurality of threadlike elastic elements) around leg-holes thereof so that the elastic members are progressively widened from their longitudinally opposite ends toward their longitudinally middle portions, respectively. Diapers, incontinence pants or baby training pants with two leg openings that each have an upper end portion and a lower end portion, a crotch portion between the lower end portions, a plurality of elastic members surrounding each leg opening, the plurality of elastic members adjacent the upper end portion of each leg opening exerting less tension or being spaced further apart than the plurality of elastic members adjacent the lower end of each leg opening.

Here is disclosed a method for efficiently attaching elastic members around leg-holes of a garment such as a disposable diaper or the like without any futile use of material. Elastic members 04A, 04B are fed and bonded onto a web so that the respective elastic members described curves like sine curves with summits and troughs of these curves defining together respective annular elastic areas 16 and thereby a base web is formed. Then the base web is severed into strips 17' bearing thereon the individual annular elastic areas and these strips 17' are intermittently bonded to a web 07 to form a composite web 19. A separate web is bonded onto a top surface of the composite web 19 to form a composite web 20. Finally, the composite web 20 is severed along center lines of the respective annular elastic areas 16 into individual garments.

Method for attachment of elastic members around leg-holes of disposable

Here is disclosed an arrangement of elastic surrounding respective leg-openings of garments such as disposable diaper, wherein the elastic surrounding each of the leg-openings comprises a plurality of first elastic members and a plurality of second elastic members; the first elastic members are positioned substantially along a front half of the leg-opening while the second elastic members are positioned substantially along a rear half of the leg-opening; the first and second elastic members have their tensile stress gradually decreasing from their longitudinally inner ends toward their longitudinally outer ends; and the first and second elastic members have their inter-member spacings gradually enlarged from their longitudinally inner ends toward their longitudinally outer ends (FIG. 2).

A disposable wearing article of pants type having a front body and a rear body comprising respectively at least a liquid-permeable topsheet and a liquid-impermeable backsheet, and elastic members along a waist-hole and respective leg-holes. The front and rear bodies are attached together along their laterally opposite side edges. Inner members formed by attaching absorbent cores to inner webs longitudinally thereof with predetermined spaces between the cores are folded on themselves along their center lines so that the cores partially lie on a first outer surface and partially lie on a second outer surface opposed to the first outer surface. A pair of continuous outer webs having widths to cover the first and second outer surfaces are provided with elastic members for leg-openings and waist-openings, and attached respectively to the first and second surfaces to form a continuous laminate. Successively the laminate is sealed and cut at predetermined areas, and individual disposable garments are produced.
