An outer retainer includes a pair of annular portions facing each other in an axial direction and a plurality of column members connecting the annular portions. A plurality of window portions is formed by the annular portions and the column members, and an outward flange is provided at one side end thereof. The column member between window portions in predetermined positions is cut and the cut portion on the outward flange side is bent radially outward to be an elastic member. Paired cut-away portions are formed in predetermined portions of the outward flange with the elastic member disposed between the paired cut-away portions. In the thus-configured outer retainer, at least three window portions are disposed between the elastic member and the cut-away portion adjacent to the elastic member in the peripheral direction. Column members between paired cut-away portions are bent outward in the radial direction to be enlarged in diameter.

Outer retainer for one-way clutch

A one-way clutch is provided with an outer ring having a cylindrical wall on an inner circumference thereof, an inner ring having cam surfaces formed thereon, rolling elements arranged between the outer and inner rings to perform transmission of a torque between the outer and inner rings, and springs biasing the rolling elements, respectively. The inner ring is provided on its outer circumferential wall with recesses such that lube-oil receiving and accumulating parts are formed between the cylindrical wall of the outer ring and the outer circumferential wall of the inner ring.

One-way clutch

A roller type one-way clutch includes an outer ring and an inner ring disposed concentrically with each other for rotation relative to each other, the outer ring having an axially extending annular inner peripheral cam surface, the inner ring being disposed in the outer ring and having an annular outer peripheral raceway surface, and a plurality of rollers disposed between the outer ring and the inner ring for transmitting torque between the outer peripheral raceway surface and the inner peripheral cam surface. The rolling surface of each of the rollers has a recess depressed toward the axis thereof over the entire circumference thereof. In an alternative arrangement, an axially extending annular inner peripheral raceway surface is provided on the outer ring and an annular outer peripheral cam surface is provided on the inner ring.

Roller type one-way clutch and roller for the roller type one-way clutch

A one-way clutch apparatus with torque transmission elements and biasing members in concave cams on one of the inner and outer races has a retainer rotatable in a circumferential direction relative to the one race, has circumferential grooves on the one race, and has block bearings between the races with radial projections that move circumferentially in corresponding grooves.

One-way clutch apparatus

An end bearing, a one-way clutch device and a method of manufacturing the end bearing, capable of preventing abrasion or scorching of the end bearing while improving the productivity. The annular end bearing which is interposed between an inner race and an outer race of the one-way clutch device and is in a slidable contact with the inner race or the outer race when it is operated, wherein a recess having the depth of 5 to 30 &mgr;m is formed on a slidable contact surface with inner race or the outer race. The method comprises a blanking step of blanking an annular blank from a metal plate, a recess forming step of forming a recess in a predetermined portion of said blank, and a drawing step of forming a flange on said blank by drawing, wherein the above recess forming step is executed before or after the blanking step, or at the same time with the blanking step.

End bearing and one-way clutch device

A ratchet one-way clutch comprises an inner race provided with recessed portions on the outer circumference; an outer race member arranged coaxially with the inner race, being provided with pockets on the inner circum-ferential side; a pawl member arranged for each of the pockets to transmit torque by being fitted into each of the recessed portions; and a biasing member for biasing the pawl member in the inner diametral direction to promote the fitting. For this clutch, an operating element is provided to relatively rotate with respect to the outer race member, and an elastic member resides inclusively between the outer race member and the operating element.

Ratchet one-way clutch

A one-way clutch device comprises a plurality of torque transmitting members interposed between an inner race and an outer race for transmitting a rotation between the inner race and the outer race through the torque transmitting members only in one direction of rotation. A side part of the inner race is formed with a plurality of oil paths for supplying lubricating oil.

One-way clutch device

An end bearing for a one-way clutch provided with non-through-holes on at least one of its inner peripheral wall and outer peripheral wall. These non-through-holes are arranged on and along plural imaginary lines, for example, straight or curved lines, which extend at a predetermined angle relative to a circumferential direction of the at least one peripheral wall. Also disclosed are a one-way clutch provided with one or two of such end bearings and a manufacturing process of such end bearing.

In a roller type one-way clutch before an inner race contacts with rollers, the inner race is centered by a pad bearing, whereby it becomes unnecessary to use a special assembling jig and also the working property of assembly can be improved without increasing the number of steps of assembling the one-way clutch. The roller type one-way clutch comprises an outer race having an axially extending annular inner peripheral cam surface, an inner race disposed inside the outer race and having an annular outer peripheral raceway surface, the outer race and the inner race being space apart from each other and disposed concentrically with each other for rotation relative to each other, a roller member disposed between the outer race and the inner race for transmitting a torque between the outer peripheral raceway surface and the inner peripheral cam surface, and a pad bearing for centering the inner race relative to the outer race, the roller member having on at least one of the axial opposite end portions thereof a chamfered portion chamfered over the entire periphery thereof.

Roller type one-way clutch

A fixing structure is provided for an outer ring in an one-way clutch. The fixing structure includes a ring-shaped leaf spring having angular waviness, interposed between an outer side wall of the outer ring and an opposing inner wall of a housing and integrally assembled on a stepped outer peripheral portion of the outer ring. The ring-shaped leaf spring has plural tabs on an inner peripheral edge portion thereof and is fixed by spring forces of the tabs immovably in the direction of an axis of the outer ring. The stepped outer peripheral portion of the outer ring preferably defines a circumferential slot therein and the tabs of the ring-shaped leaf spring are fitted in the circumferential slot, whereby any axial movement of the ring-shaped leaf spring is limited.

Fixing structure for outer ring in one-way clutch

A fixing structure is provided for an outer ring member in a one-way clutch. The fixing structure includes a spring device having resilient force in the direction of an axis of the one-way clutch and interposed between an outer peripheral side wall of an outer ring member of the one-way clutch and a stopper ring secured on an associated housing. The spring device is in the form of at least one spring member which is discrete from any component of the one-way clutch to permit an easy change in a spring characteristic and is held between a side wall of the outer ring member and a side plate mounted on the side wall of the outer ring member. The spring member is in engagement at a part thereof with a part of the side plate so that any radial movement of the spring member is limited by the part of the side plate.
