A cationic electrodeposition paint composition suitable for a wheel of an automotive vehicle. The paint composition contains an amine-modified epoxy resin and a blocked isocyanate as main components. The paint composition further contains a nonionic emulsified and dispersed type acrylic resin within a range from 6 to 30% by weight in resinous solid content relative to the total resin content of the paint composition, a colloidal silica-containing gelled particulate within a range from 10 to 30 PHR in solid content in paint composition, and an alkyltin ester compound of an aliphatic carboxylic acid within a range from 0.1 to 10 PHR in solid content in the paint composition, thereby improving corrosion resistance of an edge portion of the wheel and a weatherability of a paint film coated on the surface of the steel plate of the wheel.

Cationic electrodeposition paint composition containing colloidal

A cationic electrodeposition paint composition suitable to be coated on a road wheel of an automotive vehicle. The paint composition is composed of an acrylic cationic resin (A), a urethanated epoxy cationic resin (B) a hardner resin (C) of a blocked isocyanate, and a cationic cross-linked resin particulate (D) having an average particle size ranging from 0.01.mu. to 1.mu.. In the paint composition the acrylic cationic resin (A), the urethanated epoxy system cationic resin (B), the blocked isocyanate hardner resin (C) and the cationic cross-linked resin particulate are respectively in amount of 20 to 70 parts by weight, 5 to 50 parts by weight, 10 to 40 parts by weight and 1 to 20 parts by weight relative to 100 parts by weight of a total solid content of the resins and particulate (A), (B), (C) and (D), thereby improving the corrosion resistance of the paint composition to the cut edge portion of the road wheel and the weatherability of coated paint film.
