A braking force measuring method for a wind turbine is provided. The wind turbine includes a ring gear, a yaw drive device driving a pinion meshing with the ring gear to make the wind turbine turn, and a brake device that prevents the nacelle from turning in the yaw direction by pressing a friction body against the ring gear. The method includes: braking the ring gear by the brake device; measuring a load on a rotating shaft of the pinion that mesh with the braked ring gear; determining a maximum value of the load during a time period when input torque is applied to the pinion, the input torque being applied with the nacelle held still and until the friction body begins to slip and the nacelle begins to turn in the yaw direction; and converting the determined load to the braking force.

A backlash measuring method is provided for measuring backlash at a plurality of different times. The backlash measuring method includes: a rotation amount calculating step of braking a ring gear relative to a second portion while contact between a target tooth and the ring gear achieved in a contacting step is maintained, causing a target pinion to rotate toward a second side in a rotation direction opposite to the first side with a driving force less than a braking force applied to brake the ring gear relative to the second portion until the target tooth touches the ring gear at a tooth surface facing the second side, and calculating an amount of rotation of the target pinion; and a measuring step of measuring backlash between the ring gear and the target pinion based on the amount of rotation of the target pinion calculated in the rotation amount calculating step.

A method of adjusting a drive mechanism includes measuring backlashes between the ring gear and the plurality of drive devices, and determining about positions of the plurality of drive devices with reference to the ring gear based on the backlashes measured in the measurement step. The measurement step includes: aligning the pinion of one of the plurality of drive devices to face a reference position in a circumferential direction of the ring gear and measuring a backlash between the ring gear and the said one drive device; and aligning the pinion of another one of the plurality of drive devices to face the reference position of the ring gear by revolving the plurality of the drive devices relative to the ring gear, and measuring a backlash between the ring gear and the said another drive device different from the said one drive device whose backlash has been measured.

A wind turbine drive control device according to one aspect of the present invention is a wind turbine drive control device for controlling a plurality of drive devices for moving two structures included in a wind power generation device relative to each other, the wind turbine drive control device including: an obtaining unit for obtaining a plurality of information items related to loads occurring between each of the plurality of drive devices and one of the two structures that receives forces generated by the plurality of drive devices; and a control unit for controlling the plurality of drive devices in such a manner that, in a state where each of the plurality of drive devices is controlled to generate a predetermined braking force, the braking force of at least one first drive device among the plurality of drive devices is increased, based on the plurality of information items.
