This scroll compressor comprises: a shaft that is capable of rotating about an axis; a motor that rotatably drives the shaft; a compressor body that is driven by the rotation of the shaft; a housing that covers the motor and the compressor body and that has a bottom surface facing the motor from the axial direction; an intake port that guides a refrigerant into the housing; and heat-dissipating fins that are formed on the bottom surface, that extend in the direction in which the refrigerant flows, and that are divided in the flow direction.

In a scroll compressor of the present invention, tip seals and are fitted in tip seal grooves provided in higher and lower tip surfaces of spiral wraps. One end of the tip seals then repeats contact and non-contact with a bottom land of the other scroll by a revolution in an orbiting manner of an orbiting scroll. In addition, a projection extending in a vertical direction from a back surface of the tip seals is provided at one end of the tip seals that become in a cantilever state. Furthermore, a hole in which the projection is fitted and engaged is formed in one end bottom surface of the tip seal grooves in which the tip seals are fitted.

An object is to provide a scroll compressor capable of avoiding problems caused by abnormal wear of a retaining ring used to prevent a cylindrical ring from being detached. The scroll compressor includes a crank shaft having a crank pin (C) at a shaft end, a drive bush () into which the crank pin (C) is fitted, a cylindrical ring () that is rotatably fitted to an outer periphery of the drive bush () and whose axial movement is inhibited by a retaining ring () mounted on the tip of the crank pin (C), a drive bearing that is fitted to an outer periphery of the cylindrical ring (). A rotation inhibitor that interferes with the retaining ring () to inhibit the rotation of the retaining ring () is provided on an end surface of the drive bush ().

A compressor having an internally mounted inverter and having improved safety at low cost is provided. The compressor has a motor; a compressor mechanism driven by the motor; a first housing section having an opening and within which the motor is housed; a second housing section which is mounted on the first housing section and which closes the opening; a fixing member which fixes the second housing section to the first housing section; a controller which is provided on the first housing section and which controls the operation of the motor; a power supply section which supplies power to the controller; a protective cover which covers the controller; and a power source control apparatus which stops the supply of power to the controller by the power supply section or carries out a prescribed safety measure operation when the protective cover is removed from the controller. The protective cover has a shape which restricts manipulation of the fixing member by covering a manipulation section of the fixing member when the controller is covered.
