A lawn mower includes a driving source mounting portion formed in a traveling frame, a driving source mounted in the driving source mounting portion, and a lawn mowing unit attached to the driving source. A bottom surface of the traveling frame includes a frame-side seal surface surrounding the lower end of the driving source mounting portion, and a lawn mowing unit peripheral surface surrounding the frame-side seal surface. A waterproof member is in tight contact with the frame-side seal surface. The lawn mowing unit peripheral surface is formed over a range from an outer circumferential edge of the frame-side seal surface to an outer circumferential edge of the lawn mowing unit. A boundary between the frame-side seal surface and lawn mowing unit peripheral surface is formed into the shape of a step.

Lawn mower with waterproofed driving source

A lawn mower includes: a blade disk rotatable about a rotation shaft extending in an up-down direction; and a plurality of cutter blades mounted on the blade disk. The blade disk includes a plurality of blade mounting sections having corresponding ones of the cutter blades mounted thereon, and a circumferential high-rigidity section for increasing rigidity of the blade disk between the blade mounting sections. The blade mounting sections are located on, and spaced from each other along, an imaginary reference circle concentric with a rotation center of the blade disk, and the circumferential high-rigidity section is located in such a manner as to interconnect the plurality of blade mounting sections along the reference circle, the circumferential high-rigidity section being formed in a generally concave-convex configuration by being depressed and protruded in a facewise direction of the blade disk.

Lawn mower

A blade disk in a lawn mower is rotatable about a rotation shaft extending in an up-down direction. A blade protection section for protecting a cutter blade mounted on the blade disk is provided integrally on the blade disk, and the cutter blade has a distal end portion located beneath the blade protection section.

A suspender for a brushcutter has a shoulder belt and a support member removably connected to the shoulder belt. A hook member has a link removably hooked to the support member, a hook part integrally connected to the link, a cover having a folded portion that is removably hooked on the link and a pair of projections extending from opposite sides of the folded portion, and an elastic piece having a base end part from which a fixing part extends and which is removably hung on the cover with the projections of the cover folded so that the fixing part is interposed between the folded portion and projections of the cover. A stopper member maintains the link of the hook member removably hooked to the support member.

Suspender for brushcutter

Driving power is transmitted to an output shaft, via driving and driven bevel gears, to a cutter blade. A gearbox supports the output shaft via first and second bearings. The second bearing is engaged by an engaging member to be prevented from axial movement, toward the blade, relative to the gearbox and supports the output shaft near the cutter blade. The output shaft is connected to the driven bevel gear such that it is prevented from rotation relative to the driven bevel gear but allowed to move axially. When the engaged state, by the engaging member, of the second bearing is canceled, the shaft is allowed to axially move toward the cutter blade until the shaft becomes rotatable relative to the driven bevel gear, at the same time of which a retaining stopper prevents the shaft from further axial movement.

Bush cutter

A bush cutting machine with a tubular operating pole connected to an outlet of an exhaust muffler and doubling as an exhaust passage is provided. Exhaust gases discharged from an engine flow from the exhaust muffler through the operating pole and are then discharged into the air. The substantial capacity of the exhaust muffler is increased by the operating pole, and the exhaust noise of the engine is reduced.

Bush cutting machine

A vegetation cutting machine has a tubular operation rod, a motor mounted to an end of the operation rod, a drive shaft extending through the operation rod and driven by the motor, a cutting tool provided at a distal end of the operation rod to undergo rotation with the drive shaft, a handle mounted on the operation rod, and a pair of handgrips provided on distal ends of the handle. Each of a pair of fastener members traverses the handle and a respective one of the handgrips for fixedly mounting the respective handgrip to the handle at a point located substantially at a center of gravity of a sum of a mass of the respective handgrip and a mass of a portion of the handle extending between the fixing point and a respective one of the distal ends of the handle, such that the fastener members of the respective handgrips are located at positions of the handle at which vibrations transmitted to the handle from the motor through the operation rod are minimized.

A power working machine has a machine body, trimming blades attached to the machine body and drivable by a drive source, an operating handle rotatably mounted on the machine body, a throttle lever disposed on the operating handle, and a throttle lock lever disposed on the operating handle for disabling pivotal movement of the throttle lever. The operating handle has a lock mechanism for locking the operating handle at a rotational position relative to the machine body, and an operation lever for unlocking the lock mechanism to thereby permit rotational movement of the operating handle and, simultaneously with the unlocking of the lock mechanism, for placing the throttle lock lever in a locking position to disable pivotal movement of the throttle lever. The throttle lock lever has a lock portion for permitting pivotal movement of the throttle lever while simultaneously locking the operation lever of the operating handle.

Power working machine

A portable working machine has a motive power source for producing a rotational motion, a cutting blade mounted to undergo linear reciprocating motion, and a reduction mechanism for reducing a speed of the rotational motion produced by the motive power source. A motion conversion mechanism converts the rotational motion reduced in speed by the reduction mechanism into a linear reciprocating motion of the cutting blade. A case accommodates therein the reduction mechanism and the motion conversion mechanism and has a lower surface. A cover member covers the lower surface of the case. The cover member has a first part connected to the lower surface of the case and a second part contiguous to the first part and extending to underlie a part of the lower surface of the case located below the reduction mechanism with a space defined between the part of the lower surface of the case and the second part of the cover member. An impact-absorbing member is disposed in the space between the part of the lower surface of the case and the second part of the cover member.

Portable working machine

A drive shaft extends into a tubular member for use in a portable working machine. The drive shaft is mounted relative to the tubular member so as to undergo rotation relative to the tubular member. The drive shaft has a longitudinal axis and resin bushes integrally mounted on the drive shaft for rotation therewith at positions along the longitudinal axis corresponding to vibration nodes of the drive shaft. Each of the resin bushes has an outer peripheral surface disposed in slidable contact with an inner peripheral surface of the tubular member.

Drive shaft for use in portable working machine

A bush cutting machine including a prime mover, a cutter and a handle fixed to an operation rod. The handle has left and right end portions carrying grips. Each grip is mounted at a center of gravity of a sum of a mass of a handle portion between a fixed point and a distal end of the handle and a mass of the grip.

A plant cutter apparatus has a tubular handling rod having a first end portion and a second end portion. A drive shaft extends through the handling rod and is mounted for undergoing rotation. A drive source unit is mounted on the first end portion of the handling rod for rotationally driving the drive shaft. A cutter blade is connected to the drive shaft for rotation therewith. A clutch case has a first mounting portion connected to the first end portion of the handling rod, a flexible coupling portion extending from the first mounting portion toward the drive source unit, and a second mounting portion extending from the flexible coupling portion and connected to drive source unit. The second mounting portion has an axial fitting hole for receiving the first end portion of the handling rod so that the first end portion of the handling rod is axially slid able therein. The first mounting portion, the flexible coupling portion and the second mounting portion of the clutch case extend sequentially along an axis of the drive shaft when viewed in a direction from the cutting blade toward the drive source unit.

Plant cutter apparatus

A plant cutter apparatus has a one-piece handling rod having an outer pipe portion, an inner pipe portion disposed concentrically within the outer pipe portion, and first, second and third radial stay portions extending between and interconnecting the outer pipe portion and the inner pipe portion. The first, second and third radial stay portions are arranged at non-equal angular intervals such that an angle &thgr;1 formed between the first and second stay portions, an angle &thgr;2 formed between the second and third stay portions, and an angle &thgr;3 formed between the third and first stay portions differ from each other. A drive shaft extends through the inner pipe portion and is rotatably supported within the inner pipe portion via a bushing disposed between the drive shaft and the inner pipe portion. A drive source unit is mounted at one end of the handling rod for rotating the drive shaft. A cutter blade is mounted at another end of the handling rod and is connected to the drive shaft for rotation therewith.

Drive shaft of a plant cutter apparatus includes an elongate main shaft portion made of a titanium alloy, and end shaft portions made of steel and integrally joined to the opposite ends of the main shaft portion. The titanium alloy has substantially the same mechanical strengths as the steel. Therefore, the titanium-alloy-made main shaft portion can secure rigidity that is normally required of the plant cutter's drive shaft, and can also reduce the weight of the drive shaft to thereby minimize unwanted sagging-induced vibrations of the drive shaft caused by the shaft's own weight.

A handle holder for mounting a U-shaped handle to an operating pole of a bush cutting machine. The handle holder has a first holding member and a second holding member. The first holding member has an operating pole insertion hole for insertion of the operating pole therethrough, an oblique groove, and a handle receiving groove for receiving the base of the handle. The second holding member has a wedge and a handle retaining groove. The wedge is fitted into the groove of the first holding member to fix the first holding member to the operating pole. The handle is interposed and held between the handle receiving groove of the first holding member and the handle retaining groove of the second holding member to be fixed to the first holding member.
