The device includes a first DC calculation unit that calculates a first DC based on a first voltage command value, a current value of a winding of a synchronous motor, and a battery voltage; a second DC calculation unit that calculates a second DC based on a current value of the winding of the synchronous motor, a rotation speed of the synchronous motor, and a predetermined motor characteristic; a model error extraction unit calculating inverter efficiency based on the first and second DC; a DC correction unit that calculates an estimated DC on the basis of the first and second DC, and the inverter efficiency; and a DC limiting unit that corrects a current command value of the winding based on the estimated DC and a predetermined DC limit value.

A drive apparatus of a synchronous motor includes a current detecting unit that detects a phase current flowing to the synchronous motor and a magnetic pole position estimating unit that estimates a magnetic pole position of a rotor of the synchronous motor. An electric motor of an electric actuator advanceably/retractably moves a power piston. A master pressure control unit sets a target movement amount of the power piston according to an amount of a movement of the input member that is caused by the brake pedal, and controls the electric motor to move the power piston so as to achieve the target movement amount, thereby causing a brake hydraulic pressure to be generated in a master cylinder. The master pressure control unit includes a reaction force generation portion, which changes a characteristic of a hydraulic reaction force applied to the brake pedal. The reaction force generation portion corrects the target movement amount of the power piston according to a temporal change in the movement amount of the input member.

An oil passage structure of a dry sump engine includes an oil recovery passage, at least one first communicating hole, and a first oil suction passage. The oil recovery passage extends in a direction in which a cylinder bank extends and is disposed so that at least part of the oil recovery passage is located outward of an external lower end portion of a valve gear chamber of a cylinder head along a junction between a side wall portion of the cylinder head and a bottom surface of the valve gear chamber in a state where the dry sump engine is mounted on a vehicle in an inclined manner. The at least one first communicating hole is provided in the side wall portion so as to connect the valve gear chamber of the cylinder head and the oil recovery passage.

An internal combustion engine includes a supercharger, an oil tank, a scavenging pump, a first passage, a second passage, and a one-way valve. The supercharger is provided in an intake passage. The oil tank communicates with a crankcase via a collecting passage. The scavenging pump is provided in the collecting passage to transport a fluid in the crankcase to the oil tank. The first passage connects an upper space located above a liquid surface in the oil tank and a downstream portion of the intake passage located on a downstream side with respect to the supercharger. The second passage connects the upper space and an upstream portion of the intake passage located on an upstream side with respect to the supercharger. The one-way valve is provided in the first passage and allows the fluid to flow only from the upper space toward the intake passage.
