An object is to provide a novel composition for blackening treatment that can sufficiently blacken copper circuits of printed wiring boards, circuits made of silver paste, and other various articles containing a copper-based metal, such as copper or a copper alloy, or a silver-based metal, such as silver or a silver alloy, without impairing the smoothness of the copper-based metal or silver-based metal. A developing device includes a housing, a development roller, and a roller gear. The roller gear is disposed at one axial end of the development roller and transmits a rotational drive force to the development roller. The development roller includes a sleeve and a coating layer. A developing device supplies a developer to a photosensitive drum, which has a cylindrical shape, and is rotatable around an axis thereof for forming an electrostatic latent image on the circumferential surface thereof. The developing device is provided with a developing roller. The developing roller is disposed to face the photosensitive drum, and has a cylindrical shape. The developing roller is rotatable around an axis thereof for carrying a developer on the circumferential surface thereof. The developing roller is provided with a small diameter portion. The small diameter portion is a part of the circumferential surface of the developing roller. The present disclosure relates to a developing roller having a conductive support base, a surface of which is covered with a resin layer, wherein the resin layer contains conductive fine particles and soluble nylon serving as a binder resin, and the resin layer surface has a surface roughness Ra of at least 0.4 &#x3bc;m, a waviness curve cycle of 50 to 400 &#x3bc;m, and a waviness curve height of 2 to 10 &#x3bc;m.

An electrophotosensitive material of the present invention is formed by providing a photosensitive layer containing a bis-azo pigment expressed in formula (1): ##STR1## wherein A.sup.1, A.sup.2, R.sup.1 and n are as defined, as a charge generating material, and a diamine compound expressed in formula (2): ##STR2## wherein R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 p and q k, l, m and o are as defined, as a charge-trasferring material, on a conductive substrate. As a charge generating material, a perylene pigment, anthanthrone pigment, X-type metal-free phthalocyanine pigment, imidazoleperylene pigment or perylene bis-azo pigment are preferable used together with the bis-azo pigment. Thus, photosensitive material is excellent in sensitivity and durability.

The present invention provides a process for packing a drum-shaped electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising the steps of folding a wrapping-start edge portion of a light-shielding packing sheet outwardly in a diametrical direction of the photoreceptor across a width of the packing sheet, and wrapping the packing sheet on a circumferential surface of the photoreceptor. The packing process of the present invention enables an electrophotographic photoreceptor, which has a small diameter, or has a soft surface and is susceptible to scratching, to be packed without forming scratches on its surface and decreasing its photosensitivity.
