An index calculation apparatus is provided with a luminance acquiring unit, a chromaticity acquiring unit and an index calculation unit. The luminance acquiring unit is configured to acquire a luminance Y of an evaluation object of visibility. The chromaticity acquiring unit is configured to acquire a chromaticity U of the evaluation object. The index calculation unit is configured to calculate an index V expressed by following equation by using the luminance Y and the chromaticity U&#xb7;V=KYU . . . (1), where K is a constant.

Index calculation apparatus and display system

The display system includes a first storage unit storing standardized data composed chromaticity values and luminance values. An information acquirer acquires luminance values and chromaticity values of a visual target and luminance and chromaticity values of a background thereof. A standardization unit standardizes the chromaticity values and the luminance values of the visual target and the background based on these chromaticity values and the luminance values of the visual target and the background thereof and the standardized data stored in the first storage unit. A visual target contrast calculator calculates a contrast of a visual target to a background by measuring a distance in a color space between the visual target and the background each defined by the standardized luminance and chromaticity values. A second storage unit stores an expression defining a relation between the contrast thereof to the background and a size of the visual target.

Display system, visibility evaluation method, and method of determining size of visual target

A vehicle display control device, which adjusts a brightness of a display image as a display image brightness of a head-up display that superimposes and displays the display image as a virtual image over a foreground scenery of the vehicle by projecting the display image onto a projection member, includes: a visual line position specifying unit that specifies a visual line position of the driver of the vehicle; and a display control unit that adjusts the display image brightness according to the brightness in a set range of the foreground scenery with respect to the visual line position as a reference point.

Vehicle display control device

In a display apparatus, a projected member is arranged in a direction in which a driver of a moving body looks while driving, from the perspective of the driver. A projecting unit projects at least one display object in a position that overlaps a background that is visible to the driver through the projected member, so as to be displayed in a superimposed manner as a virtual image. A measuring unit measures a luminance value of the background. A control unit determines a luminance value of the display object based on the luminance value of the background measured by the measuring unit, chromaticity values of the display object, and a sense of superimposition that is a value having a range of 0 or greater and 100 or less, and controls the projecting unit such that the display object is projected at the luminance value of the display object.

Display apparatus for vehicle

A failure detection system includes: an information processing device mounted in a vehicle or installed on a road; and a vehicle-mounted device mounted in another vehicle. The information processing device includes: a lighting determination device of a rear lamp of a periphery vehicle; an acquisition device of vehicle identification information of the periphery vehicle; and a transmission control device transmitting result information of lighting determination and the vehicle identification information to the vehicle-mounted device. The vehicle-mounted device includes: a vehicle determination device determining whether the periphery vehicle is the another vehicle; and an output device producing an output in accordance with the result information when the periphery vehicle is the another vehicle.
