A blower unit for an automobile air conditioner including a fan for introducing air through an air intake unit and for forcibly discharging air introduced to a casing of the automobile air conditioner through a discharge opening. A scroll casing includes a side wall, arranged around the fan, and a bottom wall closing the side wall. The side wall of the scroll casing is formed in a shape symmetrical about a center line thereof with the center line being parallel to an air streamline in the vicinity of the discharge opening. The side wall has opposed facing ends at the discharge opening. A nose member is mounted within the scroll casing close to one of the opposed facing ends of the side wall.

Blower unit for automobile air conditioner

An electric motor fan comprises a fan driven by a motor, a case with the fan mounted therein and including a scroll providing an air outlet port of the fan, and a control unit including an output transistor for controlling the drive of the motor. The control unit includes a heat radiation device mounted in the scroll for radiating the heat generated by the transistor. At least a part of the heat radiation device is formed as a radiation fin having an internal surface in the same plane as the internal wall surface of the scroll.

A rotor for a flat-type motor is constructed to include a flat armature, which comprises a flat armature winding in the form of a disk, and an insulating resinous body in which the armature winding is embedded. The insulating resinous body has a greater thickness than the armature winding so as to cover the winding, but is formed with cooling structure, such as grooves and bores, in positions where the coil portions of the armature winding on which the magnetic flux of the field magnets acts effectively are embedded, thereby promoting dissipation of heat from the armature winding.
