An onboard device estimates a traveling state of a vehicle that may be influenced by the psychological state of a driver, based on an utterance of the driver without the use of various sensors, and includes: a voice collection unit for collecting a driver's voice; a traveling state collection unit for collecting traveling state information representing a traveling state of a vehicle; a database generation unit for generating a database by associating voice information corresponding to the collected voice with the collected traveling state information; a learning unit for learning an estimation model, with pairs including the voice information and the traveling state information recorded in the generated database being used as learning data; and an estimation unit for estimating the traveling state of the vehicle that may be influenced by a psychological state of the driver by using the estimation model, based on an utterance of the driver.

To assign an appropriate pronunciation to a word or phrase having a unique pronunciation or a word or phrase having a pronunciation incorrectly used by a user, a terminal device divides a first word or phrase indicated by a first recognition result acquired from a speech recognition server into morphemes and assigns a pronunciation to each of the morphemes, and divides a second word or phrase indicated by a second recognition result acquired from a speech recognition module into morphemes. Further, the terminal device selects, for a morpheme having the same character string as that of any one of the morphemes forming the second word or phrase among the morphemes forming the first word or phrase, a pronunciation of the morpheme indicated by the second recognition result.

An information retrieving apparatus is provided which has excellent usability using voice inputs. Search queries input by a user via a touch panel or the like are used as voice recognition vocabulary. The present invention provides a technique, by speech input, to specify a location, even when a name or the like of the location is not accurately known, while driving. An in-vehicle apparatus mounted in a vehicle has a speech recognition function, and stores information shown on a signboard and a noun substitute in storage. If speech inputted from a speech input device includes a noun substitute and further includes at least a part of the information shown on the signboard, a response is decided according to the information shown on the signboard, and the decided response is outputted from an output device.

It is provided a speech recognition system installed in a terminal coupled to a server via a network. The terminal holds map data including a landmark. The speech recognition system manages recognition data including a word corresponding to a name of the landmark, and sends update area information and updated time to the server. The server generates, when recognition data of the area of the update area information sent from the terminal has been changed after updated time, difference data between latest recognition data and recognition data of the update area information at a time of the updated time, and sends the generated difference data and map data of the update area information to the terminal. The terminal updates the map data based on the map data sent from the server. The speech recognition system updates the recognition data managed by the terminal based on the difference data.

Provided is an information retrieval method including: retrieving, by a computer, a name including input characters from a database for storing the name, an attribute word associated with the name, and a degree of relevance between the name and the attribute word; outputting the retrieved name as a candidate name; and extracting an attribute word associated with the candidate name, the extracting including: calculating a degree of independency indicating a degree of difference between the extracted attribute words, a degree of coverage indicating an extent to which the combination of the extracted attribute words covers the candidate names, and a degree of equality of a number of corresponding candidate names for each attribute word; and calculating a score of the combination of the attribute words based on at least one of the independency, the coverage and the equality to output the combinations of the attribute words to an output unit.
