An optical repeater is a C+L-band repeater inserted between a first transmission path fiber and a second transmission path fiber. The optical repeater includes: a first optical fiber amplifier inserted in a first line, for amplifying a C-band signal; a second optical fiber amplifier inserted in a second line, for amplifying an L-band signal; a third optical fiber amplifier inserted in a third line, for amplifying a C-band signal; a fourth optical fiber amplifier inserted in a fourth line, for amplifying an L-band signal; and a first loopback means provided between an input to the first optical fiber amplifier or an output from the first optical fiber amplifier and an input to the third optical fiber amplifier or an output from the third optical fiber amplifier.

Optical repeater, transmission path fiber monitoring method, and optical transmission system

A transmission system includes a transmission device and a reception device connected with each other via two lines. When the transmission device switches a line, used for transmitting VLAN traffic, from a first line to a second line, the transmission device transmits the VLAN traffic to the second line by switching the line after transmitting a post-switching message to the first line. The reception device includes a first buffer which stores the VLAN traffic received from the first line and a second buffer which stores the VLAN traffic received from the second line. When the reception device receives the post-switching message from the first line, the reception device starts reading of the VLAN traffic from the second buffer after reading the entire VLAN traffic stored in the first buffer.

Transmission system, transmission method, and communication device

When a first communication device receives a predetermined message from a second communication device via a third line (L3) in a state of transmitting frames to a first line (L1) while performing error-correction coding on the frames, the first communication device switches the line used for transmission from L1 to the second line (L2), then transmits a frame of a post-switching message to L1 . The second communication device receives frames from L1 and L2 and performs error correction, stores the frames, on which error correction has been performed, in first and second buffers (B1, B2), and when determining that it is necessary to perform line switching based on the status of error correction with respect to the frames received from L1, transmits a predetermined message to L3, and when receiving the frame of the post-switching message from L1, starts reading frames from B2 after reading all frames stored in B1.

In order to capture an image representing pulsation strength in moving velocity of an echo source, a moving velocity V of the echo source is detected based on the Doppler shift in an ultrasonic echo, and a pulsation strength P in the moving velocity V is detected at a pulsation detecting means,by a calculation that employs a value V,of the moving velocity V at a current time phase and a value V,of the moving velocity V at a past time phase.

Ultrasonic imaging method and apparatus

A process for producing a toner for developing electrostatic image is disclosed which comprises preparing a suspension of a mixed solution of a polymerizable monomer system containing at least a coloring agent and a release agent and an aqueous medium system and polymerizing the suspension, wherein the suspension is prepared by jetting the mixed solution through a nozzle under elevated pressure in a flowing direction which is forced to vary so that the mixed solution collides with each other or with a predetermined plane to prepare suspended grains, and immediately passing the mixed solution through an apparatus for throttling the path so that back pressure and shearing stress produced by the throttling apparatus are used to adjust the grain diameter and grain size distribution of the suspended grains. The process provides a toner having a small grain diameter and a narrow grain size distribution and comprising additives homogeneously dispersed therein.

Toner for developing electrostatic image and process for the preparation

Disclosed is a process for the preparation of a polymerization process toner for developing an electrostatic image which comprises the polymerization of a polymerizable monomer containing finely divided magnetic grains dispersed therein, a compound represented by formula R--(COOM).sub.n being used as a dispersant, wherein n represents an integer 1 to 4, R represents an alkyl group (including phenyl-substituted alkyl group), an alkylene group (including a phenyl-substituted alkylene group), or a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, and M represents a hydrogen atom, alkaline metal or alkaline earth metal. The process provides an enhancement of pigment dispersability in a toner, giving a toner that provides a high image quality.
