According to one embodiment, an electronic apparatus includes a main housing, a keyboard attached to the main housing, a hinge attached to a display housing, and a reinforcing member in the main housing. The reinforcing member includes a fixing portion to which the hinge is attached and a supporting portion including a surface facing the keyboard. The keyboard is placed on the supporting portion.

An electronic apparatus includes a main body housing having a corner portion in its rear, a display section, and a hinge device which rotatively movably connects the display section to the main body housing. The corner portion projects outward more than a side wall of the display section placed in a closed position with respect to the main body housing.

A portable information apparatus comprising a main body and a display unit rotatably supported by the main body. The display unit comprises a display device and a display housing made of synthetic resin. The display device has a screen. The display housing contains the display device and has first and second side portions spaced apart in a widthwise direction. A pair of support members made of metal are secured to an inner surface of the display housing. Both support members extend along the first and second side portions of the display housing, respectively, supporting the display device at the first and second side portions of the display housing.

Portable information apparatus having a display unit comprising a housing and a display contained in the housing

A portable electronic apparatus comprising a main body. The main body has a box-shaped housing including a unit receptacle. The unit receptacle protrudes upwards from said box-shaped housing and is located in a rear part of the box-shaped housing. The unit receptacle define a chamber and extends in a widthwise direction thereof. The apparatus further comprises a display unit and an AC power unit. The display unit is coupled to the rear part of the box-shaped housing. The AC power unit is provided in the chamber and electrically connected to said main body. The AC power unit is designed to convert AC power to DC power and supply the DC power to the main body. The AC power unit contains circuit components which generate heat while operating. The AC power unit is supported by a holder which is mounted on a circuit board and by a connector support member which is located at an inner side of the back wall of the box-shaped housing.
