A method for inspecting a battery in which an electrode body is accommodated in a case so that the electrode body is insulated from the case by an insulation film includes: adjusting the battery to a first voltage; measuring a first potential difference which is a potential difference between the case and a negative terminal that is exposed outside the case and electrically connected to a negative electrode plate to have a negative-electrode potential; measuring a second potential difference which is a potential difference between the case and the negative electrode plate after a lapse of a standby period of 24 hours or more; and determining whether or not a short circuit exists between the case and the negative electrode plate based on magnitude of the first and second potential differences and a change between the first potential difference and the second potential difference.

A manufacturing method for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes preparing a battery assembly, and performing an initial charging on the battery assembly. In the initial charging, a differential capacity curve of the battery assembly has a first peak voltage at which a first layer is formed on the electrode body and a second peak voltage at which a second layer is formed on the electrode body. The initial charging includes forming the first layer by stopping charging for a first stop time after charging to a first specified voltage that is set between the first peak voltage and the second peak voltage, and forming a second layer with charging performed to a second specified voltage that is set higher than the second peak voltage after forming the first layer.

Electric storage apparatus and manufacturing method of electric storage apparatus

A method of testing a secondary battery includes first to fourth steps. At the first step, the secondary battery after manufacture is charged to a first voltage. At the second step, a second voltage lower than the first voltage is set as a target voltage and discharge or charge is performed in a constant-current constant-voltage mode before the secondary battery is left standing. At the third step, the open circuit voltage of the secondary battery is measured before and after the secondary battery is left standing. In a lithium secondary battery provided by the present invention, the layer density on a side facing a protective layer () in a negative electrode active material layer () and/or positive electrode active material layer where the protective layer is formed, the protective layer containing an insulating filler and a binder, is higher than the layer density in a central portion and a side facing a current collector () in the negative electrode active material layer and/or positive electrode active material layer where the protective layer is formed.
