An ultrasonic endoscope having a small size and a slight temperature rise of an insertion part even when the transmission output of an ultrasonic transducer part is increased or an imaging device is attached thereto. The ultrasonic endoscope includes: an ultrasonic transducer part having plural ultrasonic transducers for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves; a flexing part for flexibly supporting the ultrasonic transducer part; a coupling part for coupling the flexing part to an operation part; a covering material for covering at least the flexing part and the coupling part; and a heat-conducting member provided inside of the covering material and coupled to the ultrasonic transducer part, for transferring heat generated in the ultrasonic transducer part to the operation part.

Ultrasonic endoscope and ultrasonic endoscopic apparatus

An ultrasonic probe in which a balance between basic performance and suppression of heat generation is achieved by suppressing heat generation of the ultrasonic probe without degrading sensitivity and relative bandwidth of the ultrasonic probe in transmission and reception of ultrasonic waves. An image forming apparatus records an image on a photosensitive material by controlling a light emission amount from a plurality of light emission elements that each emit light in accordance with a supplied light emission control signal. The apparatus has a control signal generation unit and a first and second signal generation sections and a signal switching section. The control signal generation unit generates a first light amount control signal from a density modulation. The second signal generation section generates an ON/OFF control signal and a second light amount control signal as a pair of signals from a combination of a density modulation and an area modulation. The signal switching section generates a light emission control signal by performing signal switching between the first light amount control signal and the pair of the signals. The exposure by the light emission is overlaid. The second light amount control signal has short pulses having pulse widths shorter than a time constant of the initial rising stage of the light emission.

Image forming apparatus and image forming method

Provided is an exposure apparatus capable of suppressing deviation of color balance by simple apparatus construction. Further, provided is an exposure apparatus capable of performing exposure with high energy utilization efficiency. The luminous intensity and emission time of each organic EL element of an organic EL array are set according to inputted image data, and the set values of luminous intensity and emission time are stored in a RAM. The organic EL elements of respective colors have different luminous intensities set so that degradation rates are substantially the same among three colors of R, G, and B. Next, control signals are generated based on the set values of the luminous intensities and emission times, and the generated control signals are outputted.

Exposure apparatus

In an exposure system for exposing a color photosensitive body including first, second and third photosensitive materials which respectively develop into cyan, magenta and yellow, the same parts of the photosensitive body are exposed a plurality of times respectively by the first to third linear emitting element arrays. The first to third linear emitting element arrays satisfy conditions Ny&#x3c;Nm and Nc&#x2266;Nm, wherein Nc, Nm and Ny respectively represent the numbers of the first to third linear emitting element arrays.

Exposure system

An exposure apparatus includes a light emitting device array in which a plurality of light emitting devices comprising light emitting sections formed onto a transparent substrate with a predetermined pattern and capable of being controlled and driven independently are arranged in a primary scanning direction to form a device row and a plurality of the device rows are arranged in a secondary scanning direction intersecting with the primary scanning direction. Further, the plurality of light emitting devices are aligned in the secondary direction with respect to a photosensitive material, and the plurality of device rows are sequentially illuminated on a time-division basis. In particular, the plurality of device rows are arranged with a pitch T expressed by T=(m&#x2212;1/n)P when they are sequentially illuminated in a direction identical to the secondary scanning direction, and are arranged with a pitch T expressed by T=(m+1/n)P when they are sequentially illuminated in a direction opposite to the secondary scanning direction, where P is the pitch of an exposure pixel, m is an integer equal to or greater than 2, and n is the number of device rows arranged in the secondary scanning direction.

A solid-state laser apparatus including a resonator in which oscillation of laser light occurs. An etalon is provided in the resonator for selecting a predetermined wavelength as a wavelength of laser light to be output from the solid-state laser apparatus. The etalon has at least one surface through which laser light passes, and is arranged so that at least one reflectance of the at least one surface at the above predetermined wavelength is smaller than reflectances of the at least one surface at wavelengths other than the predetermined wavelength. In addition, at least one resonator mirror of the resonator is arranged so that at least one reflectance of the at least one mirror at the above predetermined wavelength is greater than reflectances of the at least one mirror at wavelengths other than the predetermined wavelength.

A disclosed exposure device performs controlling exposing dose by gradations of &lcub;n&times;(m&minus;1)&plus;1&rcub; stages representing shadow to highlight for each color when exposing the maximum n times under a condition that every light-emitting element is exposure-gradation controlled independently at m-stages. When a silver halide photosensitive material is used as a photosensitive material, light sensitivity is high in the order of red, green and blue. The number of aligned rows of red light-emitting elements is greater than those of aligned rows of other colors for reducing the light-emitting intensity on a time-average basis for every red light-emitting element. The area of red light-emitting elements and the area of green and blue light-emitting elements are simultaneously and independently passive-matrix driven by corresponding driving circuits. Of each light-emitting element, the driving duty improves and the peak light-emitting intensity reduces.

Exposure device

A stray light cutting structure for an optical device provided with an optical component through which a predetermined light beam travels in parallel to the optical axis of the optical device is provided. The structure is for cutting stray light, which travels at an angle to the optical axis of the optical device to enter the optical component through one end face thereof, and includes at least one notch formed on one side face of the optical component.

A solid laser produces a laser beam of a 1 &mgr;m wavelength band with an Nd-doped solid laser medium. Single-longitudinal-mode solid laser

A laser-diode-pumped solid state laser in which a solid state laser crystal is pumped by a light beam produced by a laser diode and which is not lower than 10 W in the internal power of the resonator includes a temperature control circuit which keeps the inside temperature of a resonator at a predetermined temperature and, a wavelength selector which is disposed in the resonator and selects one of a plurality of oscillation modes in the resonator, thereby making the laser oscillate in a single mode. The wavelength selector has characteristics such that the increase in temperature of the wavelength selector due to absorption of a laser beam is smaller than a value such that when the temperature of the wavelength selector changes by the value or more, the oscillation mode selected by the wavelength selector changes.

Laser-diode-pumped solid state laser

A solid state laser includes a resonator, a solid laser crystal disposed in the resonator, a pumping source for pumping the laser crystal, a pair of .lambda./4 plates which is disposed in the resonator with the laser crystal intervening therebetween and makes an oscillation beam of a twisted mode, and a polarization control element which is disposed in the resonator and sets the linear polarization of the solid state laser beam in a predetermined direction. The solid laser crystal is a birefringent crystal and an optical axis of the birefringence of the solid laser crystal is oriented in the direction of the linear polarization of the solid state laser beam set by the polarization control element.

Solid state laser and method of manufacturing the same

A polarization control element for controlling the direction of polarization and the longitudinal mode of a laser is formed by cutting a birefringent crystal so that its light incident face and light emanating face are at an angle to the optical axis of the crystal and adjusting the thickness and the reflectivities of the faces of the crystal so that the crystal can function as a Fabry-Perot etalon. The thickness of the birefringent crystal is set so that the wavelengths selected by the birefringent crystal for two laser oscillation modes whose directions of polarization are normal to each other differ from each other.
