An ultrasonic probe includes a substrate, a diaphragm, a thin-film piezoelectric element, a communication passage, and an air hole. The substrate has first and second cavities thereon. The diaphragm is configured at the first cavity. The thin-film piezoelectric element is configured to the diaphragms. The communicating passage is configured in the substrate and extending from the first cavity to the second cavity. The air hole extends between the communicating passage to an outside of the substrate.

Ultrasonic probe and ultrasonic inspection apparatus

An ultrasonic probe includes a substrate having an opening section, a support film disposed on the substrate, a piezoelectric body disposed on the support film at the opening section, first and second resin sections, and a communicating section. The first resin section is disposed at a position overlapping the opening section in the plan view and spaced apart from the support film with the liquid being arranged therebetween. The communicating section is connected to the first resin section. The second resin section is connected to the communicating section to house the liquid flowing in through a communication hole of the communicating section. At least portions of the first and second resin sections are configured to deform such that a first liquid filled volume formed between the first resin section and the support film and a second liquid filled volume formed by the second resin section are changed.

An actuator, includes: a weight part; a supporting part supporting the weight part; a connecting part coupling the weight part rotatable to the supporting part and having an elastic part; a driving member for driving and rotating the weight part; and a semiconductor circuit for driving the weight part. The driving member is operated to torsionally deform the elastic part and rotate the weight part. The elastic part has a first silicon part that is mainly made of silicon and a first resin part that is mainly made of resin and coupled to the first silicon part. The supporting part has at least a second silicon part made mainly of silicon and coupled to the first silicon part of the elastic part. The semiconductor circuit is provided on the second silicon part of the supporting part.

Actuator, optical scanner and image-forming device

A printer having an opening provided on an accommodating portion for a recording rolled paper, wherein the opening is covered by first and second swing covers which pivot in opposite directions when moving from a closed position in which they are relatively close to each other. The first swing cover has a first guide member, and the second swing cover has a second guide member. After loading the recording rolled paper into the accommodating portion, the first swing cover is firstly closed. Then, the second swing cover is closed so that the label sheet is automatically arranged to curve by passing around the first guide member and the second guide member.

A thermal printer for printing on a recording medium adapted to travel along a path through the thermal printer includes a frame and a thermal print head supported by the frame, the thermal print head carrying printing elements. A cover hinged to the frame is movable between an open position and a closed position. An elastomeric platen roller is rotatably supported by the cover, the thermal print head and the platen roller being relatively resiliently biased toward each other to urge the printing elements carried by the thermal print head into contact with a recording medium disposed between the thermal print head and the platen roller when the cover is in the closed position. The thermal print head includes a platen roller receiving surface positioned to intercept the elastomeric platen roller during movement of the cover to the closed position, the roller receiving surface having a contact area distributing the force exerted by the elastomeric platen roller against the thermal print head during the closing movement of the cover.

A paper termination detecting apparatus for detecting an amount of a paper roll that is below a predetermined amount of paper, having: a detecting lever including a detecting piece being movable within a space of a core part of the paper roll, and a protruding piece spaced a predetermined distance apart from the detecting piece, the protruding piece being allowed to come in contact with a side of the paper roll; and a detecting switch for converting a motion of the detecting lever into an electrical signal when the detecting piece moves into the space of the core part of the paper roll.

Paper termination detecting apparatus

A printer comprising a cutting device for cutting the recording paper with a clean, straight edge is achieved. The printer comprises a pair of separable cutting blades, a fixed blade 14 and a movable blade 9, disposed with the cutting edges thereof mutually opposed in a substantially facing relationship on opposite sides of the paper exit 15 from which the recording paper is ejected. The movable blade 9 contacts fixed blade 14 at a point, and is driven with a scissors-like sliding action across fixed blade 14 by means of movable blade drive 10. Fixed blade 14 is supported on an openable cover frame 8 by support member 16 with a certain amount of play. Movable blade 9 is housed inside cutter unit frame 11. The cover frame supporting the fixed blade can be displaced between a cutting position wherein the fixed blade and the movable blade are disposed in an adjacent, substantially facing relationship and a non-cutting position wherein the fixed blade and movable blade are disposed at a distance from one another.
