The invention provides a method for preparing a peptide for improving brain function, comprising hydrolyzing milk casein with an enzymatic catalyst comprising a protease to produce a hydrolysate comprising: (i) a peptide consisting of the amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 1 or a variant thereof; (ii) a peptide consisting of the amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 2 or a variant thereof; or (iii) a mixture of the peptides of (i) and (ii), wherein the production yield of each of the peptides is 2% or more, or the total production yield of the mixture is 10% or more. The present invention provides an oxygen-absorbing resin composition comprising polyolefin resin (A) obtained by polymerizing an olefin having 2 to 8 carbon atoms, resin (B) which is other than resin (A) and which acts as a trigger for the oxidation of resin (A), and transition metal catalyst (C), wherein resin (B) is dispersed in the matrix of resin (A) so that the oxidation reaction of matrix resin (A) is caused and thus oxygen is absorbed when the oxygen-absorbing resin composition is brought into contact with oxygen. This oxygen absorbing resin composition has a high oxygen absorbability and is advantageous in cost because oxygen is absorbed in resin (A).

A high-quality oxygen-absorbing resin composition which is obtained without suffering resin scorching. Also provided are pellets for the oxygen-absorbing resin composition which comprise a thermoplastic resin (A) and an oxidation catalyst. After the pellets are mixed with a trigger resin and a thermoplastic resin (C), the trigger resin functions as a trigger to cause the oxidation of the thermoplastic resins (A) and (C) to proceed.
